Tutus And then, of course, there’s the *pièce de résistance*, the stunning, glorious… tutu! Yes, these are what you’re all waiting for, aren't they? Denton's got its fair share of amazing shops that cater to ballerinas wanting to look like a vision en pointe! Now, I must admit that I'm not a massive fan of the very traditional and heavily decorated tulle ones you see in ballet performances (you know the ones with several tiers and lots of ruffles and stuff…). They definitely make you feel a bit more like a fluffy swan than a fierce ballerina, if you know what I mean?! I love the style with less volume – the ‘modern’ or contemporary tutu, if you like. You know, those simple but striking single-layer tutus that kind of hug the body but flow around it like an amazing soft cloud of silk! Just… swoon! I recommend trying them out on a Friday morning when the owner's niece is there helping – she's got this incredible artistic flair and she can make any tutu look like a piece of art! I swear, it's a full-on fairy godmother situation! You might just find that perfect tutu hiding in one of their shelves and no matter what your budget, you can totally rock it for a performance, for a photoshoot or simply because, well… you’re just that stylish, right? If you’re in Denton, you can’t possibly miss them. I’ve been to a few of their shows and, trust me, you’ll be captivated. The sheer grace and technical skills of their dancers will take your breath away! I saw Swan Lake recently, and I felt transported to another world – they tell such a beautiful and emotive story! But my personal fave was when they performed *Giselle* a few months back. It was an unforgettable experience. There’s just something so timeless and enchanting about the combination of passion, precision and artistic excellence that comes from a truly great dance company like this one. They really make you believe you are watching real ballerinas! And if you’re looking for a more intimate experience, I also really recommend the smaller dance schools that host student showcases. These are perfect for finding your next ballet fix. *Artistic Expressions Dance Company* and *Movement Academy* regularly hold recitals and shows throughout the year. What’s even better, their dancers are so incredibly dedicated, and it's beautiful to witness their talent blossom.
