Wishaw’s Got Talent: Pointe Shoes, Leotards and Tutus Galore
Hey dance divas and dudes, it’s your girl, Ella, back with another post about my favourite topic: all things ballet!
This week I took a little trip down to Wishaw, a charming town nestled in the heart of Scotland, to explore their vibrant dance scene. You guys, let me tell you, it's a treasure trove for ballet lovers!
My mission was to unearth the hidden gems – the places where dreams are twirled, leaps are perfected and grace is cultivated. I’ve got to share these amazing shops with you! Let’s dive in!
The Ballerina’s Haven: En Pointe Boutique
First up, we’ve got En Pointe Boutique. This place is like a ballet paradise, decked out in pretty pink and everything your inner ballerina heart desires. The owner, Moira, is a genuine sweetheart who knows her stuff. I walked in feeling like I was on the set of a movie!
Moira helped me pick out a pair of Pointe shoes from their wide selection. I can’t believe they actually carried a pair of shoes that fitted me perfectly! It was a total fairytale moment for a girl like me!
She was a real pro, helping me with every step, measuring, giving advice. And speaking of pointe shoes, did you know Wishaw’s ballet world is just bursting with top-notch shops like this? They have every type of shoe from traditional, classic, and to contemporary designs - they've even got styles to accommodate any foot type. You've got to go check it out. You will not be disappointed!
Dancewear Dreams: Stepping Out Wishaw
I also found a fab little shop called Stepping Out Wishaw. This little shop is all about looking fantastic for dance and performance, but with a side of practical chic too. Their collection is modern with edgy details and on trend!
Leotards, skirts, leggings - they've got it all, with everything perfectly organized, so you can really browse their inventory. It was such a delight, browsing all their vibrant leotard styles and all the lovely skirts. Their leotard collection had classic, trendy styles – a ballet dancer's dream wardrobe! Everything’s available in all the colors of the rainbow - seriously, they've got it all! You could easily be there for an hour or more just checking out everything on their shelves. I literally almost spent my whole allowance in here, lol! But I had to hold myself back because I knew what I really wanted – the most magical of items - the Tutus!

And oh my god, you guys. Their tutu selection was unreal! There were tutus for every occasion - from elegant romantic classical tutus, to whimsical romantic tutus, even playful, shorter tutu styles - the selection is just phenomenal! Their tulle was perfectly smooth. If I didn’t have to catch a bus I could have spent the whole afternoon admiring it. I decided to get a lovely pale lavender tulle tutu to add a splash of elegance to my own ballet practice! I absolutely loved it, but this one’s all about the experience, right?!
#EnPointe with the Best of them
I spent a couple of hours in the town, just strolling, feeling inspired by the ballet scene! I popped into “Le Ballet Atelier”. If you’re looking to improve your technique with expert classes, or you want to improve your artistry, Le Ballet Atelier offers it all, including modern, jazz and ballet classes and contemporary. From beginner to advanced, they’ve got a class for every level.
And you know what's cool about Wishaw? Their dedication to the arts runs deep. It was a dream for me - from stunning ballet schools like Le Ballet Atelier to the incredible shops stocked with gorgeous outfits! You can’t help but be inspired. And remember, every ballerinas needs the perfect place to dance!

• Go and explore!
• Support local boutiques and ballet schools!
• Join a class. Take a chance.
