Watford's Ballet Pointe Shoe Paradise

Hey dance lovers! It’s your girl, Ava, back with another post! As a ballerina, there’s nothing more exciting than getting new pointe shoes. They are practically an extension of my feet! There are so many different brands and styles to choose from and finding the right pair is like striking gold. Lucky for me (and all the ballerinas in the Watford area), I discovered a treasure trove of pointe shoes, leotards, and tutus at the brand-new Ballet Pointe shop just down the road from my flat. Let's delve into this little bit of ballet heaven together.

The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the sweet scent of leather. Rows upon rows of sleek pointe shoes are lined up on the shelves like tiny, beautiful sculptures. The shop has got all the big names – **Bloch, Grishko, Freed, Gaynor Minden** you name it, they’ve got it! My heart literally did a little skip a beat when I saw the latest **Grishko 2007** in a gorgeous blush pink. I practically snatched them off the shelf. These shoes are so light and flexible; you'd think they'd practically float across the floor! Honestly, I couldn't wait to try them out at my next class. My ballet teachers know I'm a bit of a pointe shoe connoisseur, so they were all so jealous when I walked in wearing them, all "Ava, how'd you get those? They're so gorgeous!"

Besides all the dreamy pointe shoes, they have a fantastic selection of leotards. Let’s just say it, nothing beats feeling like a ballerina princess in a new leotard! It’s an essential part of our uniform and you need to get one that not only looks great but makes you feel like a star. They've got leotards for every style and taste: classic, modern, cheeky, and even a few cute crop tops. My current favourite is this beautiful **black mesh leotard with a red velvet panel.** I'm loving this combo of classic and bold - perfect for both classes and auditions. You know me, I’m all about a good colour pop.

Now, no ballet-related post is complete without a little tutu talk. We all have our favorite tutu styles! But the truth is, a tutu makes me feel so happy and excited every time. There is nothing like wearing a tutu – it’s pure, feminine beauty in fabric form! Luckily, Ballet Pointe has a wide selection of tutus too! They have everything from the classic **Romantic Tutu**, a perfect swirl of tulle and femininity for our more romantic ballet roles. To the modern, shorter **Layered Tutu**, a statement piece of modern ballet, the layered tulle giving that dramatic, almost futuristic look, I love to rock this on the stage, it gives off serious ballerina vibes!

So let’s chat about tutu styles a little bit! One of the shop's bestsellers is the **"Demi Tutu",** perfect for ballet students, they look so dainty. And it's so flattering - they can be fitted in so many different ways to make you feel really elegant.

My other personal favourite - is the **"The Ballet Tutu,"** so versatile and iconic. This one is a must-have for every dancer because it’s perfect for everything from school work to more formal performances.

I also have a big soft spot for the "**Ballet Tutus",** made in a beautiful soft ivory - they look heavenly under the stage lights. And you simply cannot go wrong with them – perfect for traditional ballets, they just make you feel like a ballerina fairy.

Now let’s be honest, ballet supplies can get expensive, so I'm a sucker for a bargain. I love their clearance rack - it’s practically my personal hunting ground. Last week I scored myself a gorgeous **"Soft Ballet Tutu,"** in a pale lavender for £10! It’s still going strong after several washes - the perfect tutu for both ballet and any fairy-themed party!

I honestly cannot recommend Ballet Pointe enough for dancers in Watford, it is a definite must-visit! There is an amazing selection for all your ballet needs, from shoes to leotards to tutus, and it’s all of fantastic quality and price! Even if you don’t need anything, the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re ever in the area, go down to Ballet Pointe and see for yourself! I swear, you’ll feel like you’re in a ballet dancer's wonderland! And that’s saying something coming from this fashionista ballerina!
