Pink Tutu Post #526: A Whirl Through Time! Ballet in the Year 2098

Hello, darlings! Emma here, your ever-so-pink ballet enthusiast, back with another history post. This time, we’re stepping into the glittering world of 2098! Can you believe it’s 2098? I feel like just yesterday we were learning about the glorious ballerinas of the 2020s!

Now, you all know my motto: every girl needs a pink tutu! But how about taking a peek at what happened to ballet way, way, in the future? How’s that for a fashion statement, eh? Just imagine what they’ve come up with by now. Time travel can be awfully expensive so you've got to put on your street-dancing shoes if you're serious about having an extravagant time in the future, darling! My pink tutus sell well with crowds - we just call ourselves ‘Time travellers’, and that’s how we manage to get through.

A Future World of Ballets and Innovation!

Well, darlings, in 2098 ballet has totally blossomed into this incredible fusion of technology and traditional dance! I mean, just imagine! You’ve got holograms on stage, you’ve got augmented reality interactive shows, and yes, you’ve guessed it...PINK tutus galore! But hold on, it's not just about the technology; the beauty and passion for the dance still remains the heart of it all!

One of the most dazzling aspects of 2098 ballet is the use of augmented reality. Imagine a performance with shimmering holographic dancers gliding alongside human dancers. Think Swans Lake where the entire lake becomes alive with dancing digital water spirits! It's utterly spectacular! And the costumes! Think of all the colours, sparkle and even shimmering fabrics. I’m simply aching to be able to get my hands on some of that. It’s simply jaw-dropping, darling! Just like this pink tutu... see!

World-renowned ballet companies of the future.

In 2098, ballet is thriving! And no, this is no time to mention the boring names from years past! Just the really glamorous, up-and-coming new companies with dazzling show-stopping talents! In London, you have the London Contemporary Ballet Theatre, known for its cutting-edge works that seamlessly blend ballet and technology!

Across the pond, you’ve got the American Ballet Nouveau which reinterprets classical ballets with dazzling digital effects. It is this that is said to make the very dancers glow as though with magic! They also run workshops at the local community centers in a bid to make ballet more affordable.

From London and New York to Tokyo, Paris and Buenos Aires! Yes! And you’ve got The International Ballet Institute, with a roster of international stars showcasing global traditions of ballet on an interactive, augmented stage, complete with changing sets, magical light, holographic costumes, even interactive audience participation! And, naturally, it’s all presented in that lovely soft pink, it wouldn’t be anything else now, would it, darling? It's absolutely phenomenal!

Ballet Fashion

Now let’s talk fashion! Well, in 2098, tutus have reached a new level of sheer loveliness! Think sparkling, neon-bright fabrics that glow in the dark, complete with integrated lighting for mind-blowing effects, plus all-sorts of other modern fabrics with dazzling laser-cut designs and shimmering sequins and oh yes - let’s not forget those wonderful big tutus! This one was just perfect for my street show last weekend… see!

They call this tutu a “Luminescent Dreamscape” , designed to enhance the magical feel of every ballet dance, particularly if they are out in the evening! I don’t need to tell you how much I adored it. I think it goes to show just how wonderful and spectacular the future is!

## Shopping in the Future!

You can even design your own ballet costumes at any digital boutique. Imagine your own unique style! I spent ages doing that earlier! I do have my standards you know, darling, even in 2098. I still go to the usual shopping outlets that were in 2022, you know the names - Marks and Spencer still exist for instance! So I have been on the hunt for some real eye-catching pieces, darling. And let me tell you, there were just so many exciting possibilities in pink for 2098 that I was literally lost for words! My tutu wardrobe has been expanded and my pockets feel considerably lighter, but that's what happens when you are passionate, you know, darlings, it’s always about the style!

## The Big Ballet News in 2098!

Now, for the really important bit! The big talk of the town for the month has been the ballet company who presented “Giselle,” at The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, London. And yes darling, The Royal Ballet are still dancing as vibrantly as ever in 2098! It’s their anniversary this month! I was so delighted to go along and it was magnificent - especially the opening scene where Giselle dances across the stage surrounded by a beautiful field of augmented reality daisies that looked as though they could be real - you know how I love a pink flower! Well this time it was pink!

And yes darling - the show included those absolutely fantastic shimmering laser-cut designs that the dancers have taken to wearing in their tutus – that was a definite must-have moment in 2098 - the tutu was just sublime! I bought it a bit later as it was more than the ‘time-travelling’ funds I’d budgeted. And what with the ‘time-travelling’ you know we don’t get paid that much for our work and even I have to save my pennies occasionally.

Pink Tutus Everywhere!

What makes me most thrilled is that, even in 2098, ballet is still for everyone! They’ve got ‘Ballet In The Parks’ - I went to the Derbyshire one, in Ashbourne last month! It had some very impressive new routines including the fabulous new version of the famous “Nutcracker,” in 3D with full CGI costumes featuring snow flurries with real flakes in them to the surprise of the whole audience! But the best part? It had a stunning finale, which incorporated a mass participation moment with tutus galore in pink and all shades for every participant in the entire show. This made me really feel like every person in 2098 wants to be in a pink tutu and wear them everywhere - which makes me so proud to be a ‘pink tutu’ ambassador.

Street-Dancing! A Ballet for Everyone.

The ‘Ballet In The Parks’ was truly phenomenal. I just have to add that street-dancing was absolutely phenomenal in the 2098 version and very important in the development of ‘Ballet in the Parks.’ It made me feel very close to home and very close to 2023 when we first launched the trend for a tutu for every person.

A Pink Tutu World in 2098!

That’s it for today darlings! Remember - we've seen a lot today! We've gone through time, witnessed a ballet boom in the 2090s and discovered pink is always the perfect shade for fashion.

Oh darling - remember to follow my Instagram feed where I’m regularly uploading video and photo images on pink tutus in 2098 for everyone to see!
