From Derbyshire to Broadway:
I'm standing outside a tiny, vibrant theatre in Greenwich Village, New York. The music spills out onto the street - a blend of jazz and soulful rhythm and blues, perfectly setting the stage for the evening's entertainment. Tonight, I'm here to see "The Queen", a show starring the legendary, iconic, one-and-only, Divine!
As I step inside, the energy crackles. A vibrant mix of creatives and drag enthusiasts have gathered in anticipation, a rainbow of colours and personalities. A kaleidoscope of excitement washes over me. I feel like a butterfly trapped inside a box of jewels!
Divine's performance is simply electrifying! A symphony of charisma, camp, and sheer fabulousness. His bold, larger-than-life persona bursts off the stage, demanding your attention, leaving you utterly captivated.

They call themselves "The Folies Bergère", their performance filled with the glamour of cabaret and a unique, almost anarchic, take on contemporary performance art. Their performances are bold and challenging, pushing the limits of society's expectations, showcasing the power of drag to subvert and inspire.
Next, I whisk myself away to Paris, where the infamous nightclub, "Le Bal Tabarin," is in full swing. Inside, a talented ensemble of drag performers are putting on a spectacular, glamorous spectacle. I can't resist taking a turn on the dance floor myself, the music filling me with joyous abandon!
Time Travelling through Drag Fashion:
While in Paris, I visit a fascinating antique boutique, brimming with dazzling fabrics and luxurious trims. It's the perfect place to find the inspiration for my own couture creations, which I hope to recreate later when I return to my own time. I'm absolutely in love with the vintage fabrics and stunning embellishments. It's an explosion of colour, textures, and design - truly the essence of fashion!
