Hiya darlings! It's your girl Emma, back from another fabulous adventure through the annals of drag history. Today, we're waltzing our way back to 12th December, 2018, a day brimming with dazzling drag performances and some truly iconic moments.
Now, if you know me, you know my love for a good pink tutu. It’s what powers my time machine, you see. Just a sprinkle of glitter and a good pirouette and poof, off I go! But before I disappear down the temporal vortex, let's chat about my recent performances. The crowds in Derby were absolutely divine last night, practically fainting over my “Swan Lake” number. My feather boa and a splash of rhinestones really gave that “je ne sais quoi” - and the encore? Well, let's just say my rendition of "All That Jazz" brought the house down. It's all about that stage presence, babes.
But back to the time travel… this time, I decided to touch down in the heart of London. What a buzz! The streets were bustling, everyone excited for the upcoming festive season, and I couldn't wait to see what was going on in the world of drag.
Now, 12th December 2018, was a pretty special day for the queens. I caught the tail end of “RuPaul's Drag Race Season 10” – oh, those iconic queens, the queens of camp, the queens who made us all laugh and cry! I'm still fangirling over their talent, especially that incredible ball episode. Imagine all those dazzling gowns, all the glitz and glam, and I’m sure, more than a few pink tutus making their way down that runway. It really set the standard for fabulousness.
Speaking of fabulousness, I found myself at a dazzling event hosted by a legendary icon of drag - none other than Divine! Remember “Hairspray?” Oh, her performances were just… chefs kiss. Her larger-than-life personality, the bold, bright colors, the sheer audacity! She embodied everything drag was about. I stood there, in my own pink tutu, mesmerized by her energy, her message, and of course, that killer wig. She was like the queen of all queens.
But the night wasn't over yet. After all, I'd been told about this fantastic new nightclub in Soho - “The Royal Vauxhall Tavern” - a true icon of London’s queer scene! I waltzed my way in and oh, my darlings, the music was pumping, the queens were slaying! So much fun! You know how I love a bit of a good sing-along, and this place had that in spades. A bit of drag performance history right there!
And to think, just a couple of hours ago I was gracing the stage in Derbyshire. This whole time travel thing really takes you to the most incredible places, especially if you're wearing your favourite pink tutu. But, the day was over all too soon, and I had to get back to my own timeline, but trust me, this was just the beginning of my adventures through the wonderful world of drag history.
Keep your eyes peeled for more posts, and as always, don't forget, there’s nothing more fabulous than a pink tutu and a great attitude! Remember darlings, life is a stage, so strut, twirl, and enjoy every performance. Until next time! Love, Emma 💖 www.pink-tutu.com
