March 2019: Drag’s Stellar Rise and My First Pink Tutu in LA!
Oh, the magic of this month! As the wind blew through my sparkly pink tutu (because even time travel is fashionable!), I was whisked to Los Angeles, the land of glitz and glamour. Now, let's face it, the drag scene in LA has ALWAYS been hot, hot, hot, but in March 2019, it was especially electrifying!
There were whispers on the breeze about this incredible new season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” – yes, my dears, it was Season 11, and it was pure fire! And you know me, I couldn’t miss it for the world! My favourite bit? Watching Brooke Lynn Hytes absolutely slaying the runway week after week! Girl, you were born to wear a crown!
Speaking of crowns, March 2019 also saw the incredible Miss Fame release her debut makeup collection! A beauty and fashion icon, Miss Fame knows how to turn heads with her sharp, dramatic look – I mean, just take one glance at her stunning pink eyeshadow!
Now, darlings, there's no time travel adventure without a little personal touch. You've heard me rave about my pink tutus – my very own style is practically a time-traveling ritual – and in March 2019, I discovered a tiny, vintage boutique in Los Angeles bursting with the most fabulous vintage tutus I'd ever seen! It was love at first sight – a little, delicate pink tutu, perfect for waltzing through the Hollywood Hills!
But it wasn't all about California dreamin’, darling! My travels took me across the globe, bringing me to the vibrant heart of drag in London!
A London Dream – Drag Becomes Art, Literally!Ah, London! This incredible city was, as always, pulsating with the excitement of a hundred different drag performances. It was, in fact, where I stumbled across this absolute gem of a show! Imagine this – the art galleries were showcasing amazing work by drag artists like the stunning and daring "B*tch," a captivating London-based performer who blended art, drag, and performance. My jaw was on the floor!
Then, my darlings, it was time for my monthly drag performance to keep my pink tutu time travel going strong! I was back on the Derbyshire stage, twirling in my newest pink tutu acquisition! I shared my adventures and stories with the locals, showcasing a world of drag beyond the borders of our quaint county town. And they absolutely adored it! It just goes to show, the magic of drag, my dears, it's truly universal.
It’s the Year of the “Yuhhh”!Oh, but my adventures weren’t over!
March 2019 marked a significant moment in drag history - the phenomenal success of “Drag Race” season 11, especially the undeniable star power of “Yuhhh" girl, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo! We couldn't get enough of her hilariousness, fierce fashion, and amazing attitude!
