Pink Tutu Time Travels: March 2023 – A Twirling Time-Trip! (Blog Post #1239)

Hello, darling dears! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad time-traveller, Emma, back again for another month of glittering, glamorous, and gosh-darn fabulous time-hopping adventures.

This month, I found myself skipping through the time-stream straight into March 2023. Honestly, darlings, it felt like stepping into a Vogue spread come to life! Such fabulousness everywhere I looked. I’m not sure what they’re doing with this whole “fashion is dead” talk… it’s positively thriving in the year 2023.

The 2023 Scene: It's A-Glow-ing!

Now, where to start? You see, 2023 was buzzing with exciting happenings. Firstly, the world of drag seemed to be flourishing, with more incredible talent and visibility than ever before. It was such a treat to see so many different expressions of drag embraced, from the elegant and theatrical to the wild and experimental. It truly felt like there was a space for everyone in this vibrant, creative world.

There were so many iconic moments happening around the globe that I almost lost track of my magical pink tutu (oh the horror!), but I managed to catch glimpses of a few stand-out events. I popped by a hilarious drag bingo night in my hometown of Derbyshire (it's been amazing seeing drag infiltrating so many everyday things these days!), and then, thanks to my trusty time-travelling tutu, zipped across the world for a show-stopping Drag Race season finale. This show, darling, was so legendary – I was glued to the screen, watching those queens slay!

But What About Me?

You know I had to squeeze in some fabulous performances of my own! I mean, how can a pink tutu-clad time traveller possibly skip a chance to sparkle in front of an audience? So, I landed myself a guest spot at a drag cabaret in London. Naturally, my opening look involved my signature pink tutu, but this time, I decided to go all out for a Moulin Rouge meets Swan Lake kind of vibe – you just can’t resist a good drag-inspired ballet fusion, darling! It went down an absolute storm, the crowd loved the choreography (even if my balance wasn't quite as flawless as I’d like it to be)!

Speaking of London, this place just knows how to host a fantastic drag night, darling. I popped into the legendary “Madame Jojo’s”, and let me tell you, the sheer amount of charisma and personality on display nearly blew my hair back. Oh, how I yearn for the days of sequins and glamour in such fabulous venues – a definite note for my future time-hopping escapades!

Pink Tutu Power

Throughout my trip, I also noticed a lot of my beloved pink tutus in action, which naturally brought a twinkle to my eye! So many people were rocking them, not just drag queens! I even saw a few fellas strutting their stuff in pink tutus – and I have to say, it looked divine! Who says drag is all about girls in dresses? Honestly, the way they rocked those tutus… it just made my whole time travel heart soar. I felt this beautiful surge of, well, joy!

Drag Isn't About Limits, Darling, It's About Expressing Yourself!

Whether you’re a drag veteran, a drag newbie, or someone just starting to explore their own identity, remember that drag is all about finding your own personal sparkle. It's about pushing boundaries, playing with fashion, and most importantly, having a good time. It's about self-expression, finding your tribe, and embracing everything about yourself – even those parts you haven't quite figured out yet!

I know, darling, I am just a simple girl with a time-traveling pink tutu, but the thing I truly want, is for everyone to embrace the freedom that comes with drag. Embrace it not as a "costume" but as a way of celebrating yourself! Because in the end, all that matters is the confidence you radiate, the laughter you share, and the sparkle in your eye!

So go on, darling, be bold, be daring, and most importantly, wear a pink tutu with confidence. Because after all, it's time to unleash the fabulous within you!

Love, sparkle, and endless tutus,

Emma xx
