Darling darlings, welcome back to Pink Tutu Time Travel, the blog where I take you on a whirlwind adventure through drag history! My name's Emma, and I'm a humble (but glamorous) ballerina drag queen from the heart of Derbyshire. I spend my days strutting my stuff on the local stage and my nights travelling through time in my magical pink tutu, leaving a trail of glitter and high heels in my wake.

Let's just say I'm absolutely obsessed with the pinkest, most fabulous tutu this side of the River Derwent! And don't even get me started on my love for all things drag – the fabulous costumes, the fierce performances, the incredible history! It's all absolutely divine, darling!

Today, December 12th, we're taking a journey through the most fabulous time travel diary entry yet! I mean, it's almost Christmas, so naturally, we've got to get those tinsel-covered tiaras on! Let's shimmy back to the fabulous past and see what fabulous things are going down!

Let me tell you, honey, December 12th is bursting with legendary drag queens leaving their fabulous mark on the world! This is a day for divas, darlings! From iconic performances to groundbreaking activism, let's dive right in:

First, we're whisked away to the heart of New York City, where the world-renowned drag icon, Divine, took centre stage at The Mineshaft, the iconic gay bar and drag club of the time. This absolute goddess was truly pioneering, defying gender norms and captivating audiences with her wild and fearless performance. This, darlings, is where it all started – the early days of New York drag.

Meanwhile, across the pond, a young Paul O'Grady was getting ready to become the absolute star of 'The Queen of The Night' – the beloved late-night talk show on the BBC. It was truly a time of glorious transition for drag queens across the globe. The 'Queen of The Night' wasn’t just entertainment; it was a voice for acceptance, promoting a wider view of the drag community and their experiences.

I absolutely love seeing how drag has become a voice for social change across the world – it truly makes my pink tutu wiggle with delight!

You simply cannot talk about drag history without a touch of glamour, darlings. And who embodies this more than the grande dame of couture drag? None other than RuPaul! On December 12th, the year 2015 was filled with excitement for the queen of all queens! Season 7 of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race' hit the screens in full drag glory. It’s been a whole nine years, and my love for this show is still going strong, as strong as those sashay away queen quotes, my darlings!

I had the honour of witnessing the incredible creativity and sheer talent that exploded from those first-episode runway walks – a spectacle worthy of a time travelling ballerina, like myself. Remember, girls, the most fabulous look is always the most confident! And always rock a fabulous pink tutu.

• Berlin: For a different kind of fabulousness, we'll head to Club Kinky, the home of Berlin's fierce and often-controversial underground scene. Expect boundary-pushing, bold drag shows with a distinct European twist – perfect for a wild, wig-snatching night out!
• Los Angeles: Back on US shores, you can experience the hottest drag talent in the heart of Hollywood at The Abbey. Catch some of the most iconic drag performances of the city, mixing fierce makeup with cutting-edge fashion.
• Derbyshire, UK: Of course, we can't forget my fabulous local scene! You know where to find me tonight, darlings - dazzling the crowd at the fabulous Derby Theatre, right here in my hometown. If you’re feeling adventurous and you want to catch some phenomenal drag performances with a dash of derby pride, I hope to see you in the front row!
