Hello lovelies, and welcome to the latest installment of my blog, www.pink-tutu.com. I'm your glamorous time-traveling guide, Emma, and this month, we're stepping back to a very special date - March 2024! It's a little piece of history, with all the glitz and glamour I adore!
First things first, have you heard about the fabulous Pink Tutu Project? Yes, darlings, I'm spreading the love for all things pink and frilly! I'm on a mission to see the world adorned in tulle, so remember to send me photos of yourselves rocking your very own pink tutus. Now, back to the magical time travel. This month's trip is courtesy of my whimsical pink tutu, a masterpiece I conjured myself with lots of sparkly fabric and sheer willpower! (Don't worry, my secret sewing methods will be revealed in a future post - just keep an eye out on the blog, lovelies). I stepped into its frills this morning, twirled once, and poof - there I was in the middle of 2024, a world of colour, fashion, and most importantly, DRAG!
Speaking of DRAG, can we talk about this incredible year in drag history? Oh, my! It feels like drag is literally everywhere! From TV screens to the world stage, these talented queens are redefining what it means to be glamorous, outspoken, and just plain fabulous!
Just imagine my excitement - the first thing I see upon arrival? A brand-new Drag Race season in production, starring queens from the Philippines. How wonderful to see diversity embraced, and even more amazing to see the talent spilling from the shores of Manila! I just know those queens are going to deliver some absolutely iconic performances.
And speaking of performances, my dear Derbyshire, where are you? My favourite local drag show must have something planned, so get those tickets and let's have a right good time! Remember, drag isn't just about fancy costumes, it's a community of support, self-expression, and joy!
Here’s what else has got me in a state of sheer delight:
- Drag events: My trip took me to a fab drag ball in London. We had the best time watching those fierce drag families perform and I even danced with a couple of queens. Remember, honey, the more sequins the better!
- Fashion Week: I was in New York to catch some incredible drag fashion shows that showcased innovative silhouettes and eye-popping makeup. Let’s just say those queens gave us everything we dreamed of!
- Global Drag Scene: My trip this month showed me the power of drag! I saw everything from community fundraisers and theatrical productions to festivals featuring Drag queens across the globe.
My Takeaway? March 2024 - an absolute triumph for the drag scene. The passion, talent, and community spirit on show were nothing short of breathtaking.
This month, I encourage you to do a little bit of digging into local events. Check out online forums for drag groups, search for performances in your area, and don't be shy to reach out and support them! Drag queens are your friends, so give them all the love and admiration they deserve.
