Hello darlings! It’s your girl, Emma, back with another sensational time travel adventure, brought to you, as always, courtesy of my magical pink tutu and your support through my fabulous drag performances! Today, we’re jeté-ing our way back in time to the fourth of April, 2027. Fancy a flutter?
Now, I’m a queen who loves her sequins and strut, but every once in a while, you just need a bit of a pirouette in history to remember where we come from, right? It’s all about roots, honey! And roots are what give our dazzling blooms their power.
So, buckle up, petal! This month's trip sees us sashay our way right into the world of drag in April 2027! Can you imagine? It's just a little glimpse into the future - or is it a vision of what could be?
We're all about glamour, darling, so naturally we're off to the grandest, most exciting, most glittering drag ball in the entire world! That’s right, we’re going to… wait for it… DRAG WORLDWIDE 2027!
Drag Worldwide is a global celebration of drag! Can you even believe it?! This festival is taking place across seven different continents, from the hustle of New York City to the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro. Talk about world domination! This is the biggest drag gathering in history - imagine, darling, seven days of shows, workshops, and a spectacular ball finale!
So what are we gonna see? Well, I'm told they've got the legends - Bianca Del Rio, RuPaul, Trixie Mattel! All the reigning queens gracing the stages across the world, bringing us that unadulterated fabulousness that only drag can deliver. This isn't your typical ball either - think underwater fantasy in Bali, cyberpunk futuristic fashion in Tokyo, and the classic glamour of old Hollywood in… well… Hollywood!
I'm told the excitement doesn't stop there! Alongside the big names, they have local heroes too! From Derbyshire, where my very own drag roots lie, there’s that adorable pixie of a performer, Pixie Poppins! The rumour mill says she's got an all-singing, all-dancing underwater spectacular in store for Bali, but who knows? I'm keeping my eyes peeled for this little Derbyshire star!
And darling, can we talk about the fashion?! I mean, we're talking drag and the entire planet is on show, so expect everything! And that's what makes me excited - the diversity! A showstopping mix of traditional drag costumes, innovative contemporary styles, avant garde expressions… everything from feathered wings to a full-blown Victorian wedding dress in drag. This is pure visual feast, darling!
I have a sneaking suspicion that some amazing trends are going to be born right here at this event. Imagine, my loves! We could see the most outrageous pink tutus imaginable at the grand finale - maybe I should try and squeeze in a little time travel trip to next April… just to see if the whole world is wearing pink tutus… wink, wink!
But darling, what I’m really most excited for isn’t the glitter and the glam. It’s seeing the power of drag, how it transcends language, culture, and distance! Imagine being surrounded by people who are proud of who they are, embracing their individuality, their art, their freedom of expression! Drag is more than just fabulous costumes and campy humour - it's about acceptance, celebrating diversity, and challenging the norm.
As I slip back into my pink tutu and jump through time back to the year 2027, I'm reminded once again why I travel back to these moments - to see the power of drag, the joy it brings, the passion that fuels its creation.
Oh darling, just remember - it all started with the tiniest spark of expression! Now, it's a global force that’s only going to keep growing, shining brighter and brighter with every amazing, colourful, magnificent, tutu-clad step!
