Greetings, my darling darlings! Emma here, your favourite Derbyshire drag queen, reporting live from - well, I don't even know where I am this month, but it's fabulously fabulous, just like always!
It's a glorious day for a trip through time! This time I've whizzed all the way to June 2027 (get your dates right, darlings, as I have, on the occasion). My time-travelling pink tutu whisks me through the ages, always landing on the first of the month - a lovely habit it's picked up over the years! And I must say, the future is fabulous.
(whispers: this post is dedicated to my amazing fans and all my little *tutu tots!)
I am wearing, naturally, my latest Pink Perfection ensemble, complete with hand-sequined details, feathers, a super fluffy boa and a pair of hot pink sparkly platform boots I found on a shopping trip through 1970s London (oh, darling! Those platform boots were the most divine! Honestly, one should never forget a vintage trip - you never know what little treasures you'll unearth! But I digress).
And anyway, back to the future! June 2027 is bursting with sooooooo much fabulousity I hardly know where to start! But I am a seasoned time traveller (even if sometimes a bit of a giddy one, if I am honest! haha) so let's get a-going, shall we?
Let's Get That Party StartedThis month, the whole drag world has gone bonkers for interactive drag shows! They are super fun with the queens actually taking audience members on stage! Imagine! Me, in my tutu, dancing with a drag superstar? You better believe I was front row center in NYC - with the cutest teeny tiny glitter bombs ready for when they started the audience interaction! I must admit, those glitter bombs are real game changers in terms of audience participation! It was absolute mayhem but in the best way. Oh, it's such a beautiful future for drag! Honestly darling, the audiences are getting into it.
The drag scene is thriving globally this month! In Tokyo, there are drag nights dedicated to high-fashion looks that inspired ballet and opera! The queens wore intricate costumes, each an absolute masterpiece, inspired by the greats: Tchaikovsky, Pavlova, Puccini, oh it was pure magnificence.
Speaking of magnificence, in Paris, they are all about the "Eco-Glam Drag"! Everything made out of sustainable materials, all perfectly on-trend. Honestly, the costumes were a marvel, so cleverly designed. The queen who used recycled materials to create a giant replica of the Eiffel Tower was mind-blowing. Oh darlings, those couture skills!
Oh, Buenos Aires! What a riot of colour and dancing and flirty sass! This month it was the big Drag Queens competition at a street festival, and the drag kings there were, like, so * fierce and fab! They had *fantastic outfits, a real celebration of all kinds of drag styles. Honestly, those costumes could have been straight out of a ballet recital! They even did a drag version of the Moulin Rouge! It was fabulous! And I was even invited on stage!
(Whispers:* my heart fluttered so **much! Oh, to be a part of the magic that is Drag.) *
Pink Tutu in Drag Paradise:Back here in my lovely little 2027 time capsule, everything has been a little different with a lot of fabulous surprises.
I found an amazing online drag performance group called The Pink Tutu Collective, and oh darling, are they gorgeous. Their style is a little bit glam, a lot of camp, and oh-my-god, the tutus!!!
Imagine my absolute delight when I saw the performers dressed in a symphony of pink - it's like the Pink Tutu gods sent a message down through the timey-whimey vortex, you know, saying โOh, Emma, your dreams are coming true!โ I immediately signed up to participate (you'll see my first Pink Tutu Collective video soon on www.pink-tutu.com!)
Honestly, I am completely captivated by this whole drag revolution. It's a glorious future. And the best part? It's just the beginning!
I must go for another shopping spree! Later, darlings. You'll want to check out the newest Pink Tutu posts coming up! And maybe, just maybe, youโll see the new Pink Tutu that whisked me into the fabulous year of 2027!
XOXO
Emma
