2029: February, The Year of the Pink Tutu!

Hello darlings! It's Emma, your favourite pink tutu-clad time travelling drag queen! And guess what? I'm back from another dazzling trip through the ages, bringing you the juiciest tidbits from February 2029.

As always, this month’s adventure took me in my magical pink tutu straight into a flurry of fabulous, and believe me, it did not disappoint. From the roaring streets of London's West End to the glimmering clubs of New York, the world of drag is just getting wilder, fiercer, and... well, pinker!

Let's rewind the clock and dive right in, shall we?

February 2029: The World's a Stage!

Stepping out of my time travelling pink tutu in London, I landed right smack dab in the middle of a groundbreaking show! "The Queen's Gambit" - a new musical exploring the life of a young drag queen navigating the complex world of competitive ballroom dancing. Think “La La Land” meets "Paris is Burning," but with a side of high-kicks and fabulous wig-flips. You could say the drag world was ablaze with anticipation for this show. Every critique praised its originality, dazzling choreography, and captivating narrative - they called it “drag's answer to Hamilton!" Naturally, I was absolutely smitten with the glitzy costumes, particularly the lead character's magnificent pink sequined gown – a stunning nod to the glorious future of drag!

But that was just the start of the drama. From London's vibrant queer scene, I traveled onwards, my pink tutu twirling with every mile. I landed in the heart of New York, where a glamorous extravaganza awaited me: a grand gala celebrating the launch of "Drag's Finest," the newest drag competition reality show to hit TV screens.

And, to everyone's surprise (not mine, my darlings!), the judges for the competition were absolutely spectacular: legends of the drag world – Bianca Del Rio, Alaska Thunderfuck, and the incredible Jinkx Monsoon. Now, I just adore the cheeky, cutting humour of Bianca. But to see them all grace the stage together – I’m just not over it!

Speaking of TV screens, it seems the world’s finally caught on to the power of drag. From mainstream networks to online streaming services, drag is popping up everywhere! With the influx of new, diverse talent, it’s fantastic to see these fabulous performers finally get their spotlight. The industry's bursting with stories of incredible drag queens pushing boundaries, exploring different aesthetics, and giving us glimpses into their vibrant worlds.

February 2029: Fashion is Power!

And, of course, a fabulous drag show isn’t complete without spectacular outfits. Fashion is, after all, our armour. This month, it was all about exploring different textures and vibrant colours! You know I love pink, but it was the fusion of textures and tones that truly took centre stage this February. Leather, satin, lace, feathers, all coming together in magnificent designs that had everyone stunned. My pink tutu actually took quite the hit from all the eye-candy!

My absolute favourite? It's a dead-heat between this fantastic drag queen’s sequined bustier paired with a magnificent, fluffy feather boa and another fabulous queen’s custom-made holographic bodysuit. Talk about a fashion vision!

But I have to confess – while I am drawn to all things glamorous and outlandish, sometimes the simple styles resonate with me the most. This month, I was in love with this fabulous queen's look, which incorporated a minimalist, yet eye-catching pink crop top and stunningly tailored trousers. Effortless yet fabulous!

But darling, it’s not just about the shows. February 2029 was all about embracing self-expression through the art of drag. There were drag-inspired makeup workshops, fashion-focused drag runway events, and even a drag-themed fashion competition. So many fantastic ways for the fabulous fashion-conscious folks to unleash their creativity. It was enough to send this Derbyshire lass into a full-on glitter frenzy!

February 2029: Let’s Spread the Tutu Love!

What can I say? I was absolutely blown away by all the phenomenal talent I encountered. It just solidifies my belief that the drag world is continuously evolving, challenging boundaries, and leaving audiences gasping in awe. But it’s more than that – it’s a space for inclusivity, acceptance, and joyous self-expression. The sheer passion and talent, coupled with an unbridled spirit of positivity and joy, reminded me why I'm so passionate about travelling through time with my trusty pink tutu – it’s just the perfect tool to showcase the beauty of drag and all the incredible artists it creates.

And I believe in making drag accessible to everyone, you know! My ultimate dream? Well, it's seeing a pink tutu twirl around the world – every stage, every street, every platform, flooded with these wonderful creations! Imagine the kaleidoscope of colour and laughter, the pure joy of sharing drag’s magic.

So, darling, until my next fabulous adventure, I’ll leave you with this thought:

Why wait for tomorrow? Embrace your inner queen, slip into that perfect pink tutu, and let your light shine today. It's your world! Go and own it, girl.

Much love,

Emma (aka "Pink Tutu")
