#DragQueenHistory: 2034.08 – Pink Tutu Time Travelling to… The FUTURE?!

Hello my darlings! It's Emma, your favourite Derbyshire drag queen and your time travel companion in fabulousness, ready to whisk you off to another time and place in our glorious pink tutu, darling! I've travelled through centuries with a feather boa and a fabulous attitude, and you know I wouldn’t be Emma without posting monthly about it! Welcome to #1376 on pink-tutu.com - our fabulous, glamorous digital journal, the only blog to feature a travelling pink tutu and your favourite drag queen!

So, where are we going this time, you ask? Well, grab your fabulous fan and a sugar plum, darling, because we are about to leap into the future! Yes, darlings, we’re travelling forward to August of 2034. Honestly, who knows what wonders await?! As I sit here writing this, my pink tutu sparkles, and it's giving off major ā€˜what-in-the-world-is-about-to-happen’ vibes!

As a professional drag queen with a penchant for the most fantastical of fashions, my time travelling skills are quite literally fuelled by performing on the drag circuit. You see, when I'm not gliding across the stage in a shimmering pink tutu (often accessorized with the finest diamante), I'm whipping up some magic with my magical pink tutu, allowing me to teleport through time and discover incredible moments in our fabulous history of drag! And wouldn't you know it? All those fabulous nights at The Glory, The RVT, The Royal Vauxhall Tavern (that was so 2020, darling!), and that incredible night at the Boom Boom Room last week… they're all helping me with these inter-dimensional escapades! (I love being a drag queen!)

Speaking of history, how about a quick peek at what’s going on in the world of drag on this very day in the future, 2034? Hold onto your feather boas, darling, because things are a bit more fabulous than I expected…

The world of drag in 2034 is exploding with diversity and new-age concepts. Forget the glitz and glamour of old-fashioned nightclubs – the new hot spots are now underground dance floors tucked away in refurbished basements and repurposed factories. These ā€œDrag Denā€ clubs feature immersive sets, intergalactic DJs, and electrifying performances. It's all about interactive theatrical experiences and incorporating cutting-edge technology into drag, darling! And guess what, the trend’s starting in New York and London! But wait, it’s getting even better… I found this incredible place in Berlin! A converted post office now hosts a futuristic immersive drag experience called ā€œThe Metaverse Ballā€ where attendees enter an entirely augmented reality dance floor. It's futuristic, daring and so in keeping with this exciting era of expression.

What else has changed? The internet has redefined what it means to be a drag queen! Virtual reality live streaming, immersive 3D performances and holograms are allowing drag queens to share their work and talents like never before. Think holographic runway shows!

And then, the greatest revelation of all? My favourite colour is pink and my most cherished garment is the tutu! Apparently, pink tutus are experiencing a major renaissance in the drag world. Drag queens are experimenting with all manner of pink tulle in their performance looks. Even more astonishing - a new movement has taken the world by storm called ā€œThe Pink Tutu Revolution!ā€ Its entire premise is centered around the message of inclusivity and self-expression through dance and, of course, pink tutus! Who knows, maybe one day it’ll be as globally recognised as ā€œdrag race!ā€

So, you know what this means? As a fiercely fabulous drag queen and a passionate ambassador for all things pink, I’m beyond ecstatic about this revival!

Here’s what else I discovered about this future drag scene… the music scene in 2034 is wild! Drag queens are pushing the boundaries of what constitutes music in drag by incorporating cybernetic vocal synthesizers, electronic rhythms, and experimental audio-visual shows into their performances. And that’s not all, darling, the world has now realised that gender fluidity and the inclusivity message in the LGBTQIA2S+ community are finally the most celebrated parts of society, it is now officially fashionable and celebrated everywhere in the world!

And to think, this is all just a snippet of the wild adventures that await in 2034. But remember darlings, even in a future that is still coming to be, the essence of drag remains true – to perform with fearless joy, and share your uniquely individual self with the world! Now go out and express yourself, get into those amazing pink tutus, and let the world hear your roar, darling! Until next time!

Love, Emma. xx
