Pink-tutu.com Post #1390: Tutu-ing Through Time: A Drag Odyssey in 2035

Hello, my darling divas! It’s Emma here, your very own Pink Tutu Time Traveler, reporting live from… well, I can’t give you an exact location, darling! But I’m currently standing in a truly spectacular 2035, looking fabulous in a bubblegum pink tutu. Can you believe it?

I just gotta tell you, 2035 is a wild time to be a drag queen! Imagine this: holographic makeup, drag performances broadcast on spaceships, and everyone, yes everyone, wearing some sort of flamboyant fashion! It’s the kind of world that makes even me, a lifelong fan of a well-executed tutu, wonder where to start!

I popped in through the cosmic wormhole last night, wearing a gloriously gaudy neon pink tutu and a glittery, bejewelled top. You’d think I’d stick out like a sore thumb, but to my surprise, everyone I saw, from the street food vendor to the lady cleaning the spaceship window, was sporting a splash of flamboyant fabulousness.

My favourite part of 2035, apart from the fabulous fashion, is how incredibly inclusive everything is. Drag, as you all know, has long been about celebrating individual expression, challenging norms and celebrating beauty in all its forms. Here, that idea is truly ingrained in every fibre of society. And get this – it wasn’t even a political thing. This shift towards inclusivity just kinda happened, which is honestly rather glorious! It felt like everyone woke up one morning, looked at themselves in the mirror and thought, ā€œYou know what? I’m gonna go all out, be myself, and spread the love!ā€

So what’s hot in drag land in 2035? The answer is, honestly, everything! I caught a performance on this futuristic drag stage, you wouldn’t believe it, like the most avant-garde mix of theatre, dance, and performance art. There was even a robot performing drag! Imagine, a chrome queen with a fierce strut! We have come a long way, darling, a very long way!

My personal favourites are the holographic makeup shows – you simply cannot tell where the skin ends and the technology begins! They’re so detailed, so intricate, they make me wish I had a holographic make-up palette for my next big show at the Derbyshire Drag Den. And it's not just about the makeup; the drag scene here is filled with fantastically talented performers! I watched a show where a drag queen performed a graceful aerial routine on silk ribbons – and I tell you, darling, the sheer athleticism of it, coupled with the fabulous costumes, it was like watching a dream! I tried the aerial ribbons myself earlier, but I’m more a Tutu and Twirl queen, dear!

Now, let’s talk fashion! The outfits in 2035 are outlandish, in the very best way possible! Everyone seems to have a different twist on extravagant, and it’s absolutely infectious! Even though I was the epitome of a pink tutu queen, it felt like I was fitting right in with everyone. I’d seen a rainbow of shimmering colours and textures – from feather boas that wouldn’t look out of place on a peacocks’s birthday to headpieces so elaborate, I'm surprised they hadn’t ended up launching their own fashion line!

Now, my journey through the cosmos might seem glamorous and fantastical, but it all comes down to a lot of hard work and dedication. You see, my dear readers, it isn’t always sunshine and roses when travelling through the timelines, my funding comes from my performances at The Derbyshire Drag Den. It’s all about dedication, and embracing the craft. I’m truly lucky to have the support of my loyal drag family back home, without them I wouldn't have been able to visit so many incredible places.

As I wrap up this post, it fills me with joy to share these wonderful experiences with you all. Let this inspire us to embrace the magic, the diversity, and the fabulousness that comes with being a drag queen, or indeed anyone, who celebrates their unique beauty and individuality! Remember, there is no right way to be a drag queen, or any human for that matter, just be you!

And please, don't forget to follow me on social media and keep up to date with my adventures. I promise, more spectacular posts are coming soon, I just need to figure out how to travel back through the time vortex! Remember to always spread the love, wear a fabulous outfit, and if you want a dose of pink-tutu fuelled inspiration, join me at The Derbyshire Drag Den next week for my latest show!

Until then, stay fabulous and may all your tutus twirl just so!

Your Pink Tutu Time Traveller,

Emma

P.S. I have started a ā€œPink Tutu Movementā€ – where people in Derbyshire, England, and worldwide are challenged to rock their own pink tutu and post a pic online with the hashtag #PinkTutuChallenge. It’s time we embraced that fabulously sparkly inner goddess!
