#DragQueenHistory during 2037 02

Hello darlings! Emma here, back again for another magical trip in my pink tutu! This month, I’m heading to a rather special date, the 2nd of February, 2037! And guess what, sweeties? This year, drag is really about breaking barriers. Let’s dive in and explore what fabulousness is in store for us in this wonderful year!

Right, now, it’s time to jump back into my pink tutu time machine! I’ve just polished my pointe shoes and it’s time to hop back to… February 2037!

“The future! It’s happening!” I cry out, swirling as I get thrown through the shimmering vortex, my pink tulle billowing around me, a cloud of vibrant loveliness. As the dizziness settles and my vision sharpens, I find myself... in a bustling, modern, vibrant city! The first thing I see is a large digital billboard plastered with pictures of the most stunning drag queens in their extravagant costumes. One even has a pink tutu just like mine! I've landed right smack in the middle of what appears to be a fabulous drag festival! This is how you time travel, sweeties!

I grab a quick pastry and a pink latte – always have to start the day with a sugar rush and some caffeine – and let’s see what fabulous drag extravaganzas I can discover today!

First, I’m whisked away to the Drag Art Museum! Honestly, what a divine space! Here, the history of drag is lovingly preserved in beautifully displayed costumes, props, and ephemera. I spot everything from a 19th-century burlesque corset to a sparkly jumpsuit from a recent season of the iconic drag reality show, "Drag Royale".

It's astounding to see how drag has evolved over the centuries, and it truly inspires me to keep pushing creative boundaries. Oh, and the shop is positively divine! I leave with a set of shimmering iridescent nail polishes – because you know, matching is my game!

Now, I’m on the hunt for some drag theater! Thankfully, in 2037, the future is absolutely full of drag theatre. This afternoon, there's an immersive Drag Experience happening at a spectacular converted warehouse. There are multiple stages for performers from all genres. A glittery Bollywood show, an opera performance, even a "dragathon" with ten acts showcasing their routines. All day long! I mean, I’m shook at how many amazing performances there are. And get this – there’s even a space where drag performers give a "masterclass" and "perform a show in the round"! This place has truly got it all.

The highlight of the day? It's got to be the dazzling Drag Street Parade! It's the perfect blend of theatrical street art, spectacular outfits, and sheer talent. It's like a Pride celebration happening on a grand scale, every day. This parade celebrates the diverse and vibrant world of drag in the best way possible, making drag truly mainstream and embraced.

After a thrilling day filled with amazing drag artistry, I settle down for an evening show at "The Velvet Curtain", the hottest new drag venue. The atmosphere here is pure electric! Drag queens of all ages and styles strut their stuff on stage, effortlessly commanding the audience with their stunning routines and witty banter. It’s everything you'd expect from the best drag shows, but amplified to the nth degree! There's a drag queen in a towering platform wig who's giving off major Alien vibes, a drag queen in an intricate mermaid costume with flowing aqua-hued tails, and then, there's me! I know my pink tutu fits perfectly here – because the whole place is draped in pink and the atmosphere is truly fabulous. I’m just waiting for my cue, to strut onto the stage, and give a performance. This is how I'm spreading the message of the pink tutu! It’s the power of fashion, darling!

What did I tell you, sweetie? It’s all about spreading fabulousness through time, one pink tutu at a time! It’s an inspiring glimpse into the future of drag – it's a place where everyone feels welcome, where boundaries are broken, and where creativity is limitless.

### Back in Derbyshire

Time to pack it in and return to my cozy Derbyshire life. This trip was truly incredible and truly solidified for me the magic that is Drag, how it has come so far from where it started. But for now, I’m settling into the simple life. Tonight, I'm hosting a Drag Queen Karaoke night with my dearest friends! It's just what I need after all that glitz and glam. And maybe, just maybe, I'll give the whole group a mini time travel tutorial – we can’t have all this wonderful knowledge locked away!
