Hello my darlings! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another dazzling drag time-travel adventure. This month we're strutting our way to February 2039! Honestly, the future is pink and fluffy, you wouldn't believe the tutus... they are, oh, honey, utterly fabulous. And I've brought back the scoop on the biggest events going on in the drag world.
First off, you all know how I love a good bit of history, and, like a sequined snowflake, February 2039 has a history, darlings! Remember that grand old ballroom in New York? Well, in the world of drag, the 'Ballet of the Stars' is a legend. It's been going on for decades, but in 2039, theyāve got a whole new level of glamour. The grand finale is said to be an absolute extravaganza, combining ballet, drag, and holographic projections of past icons like Judy Garland and Lady Gaga! Swooooooon - Talk about history repeating itself, eh?
My favourite part? It's got to be the drag fashion. Let's just say those feathers and sequins are so extravagant, they'd make Liberace blush. In this time, all drag queens are going for big, bold looks, embracing those classic couture silhouettes ā but always with a modern, tech-inspired edge. Imagine tutus that actually change colour depending on the lighting! Talk about the future of drag, darlings!
Speaking of technology, can you believe how advanced everything is? Iāve never seen so many drones flying around with glowing tutus, handing out snacks in drag bars. Oh, and everyone is using virtual reality headsets to watch drag shows in their own homes! It's practically like being thereā¦ with the added benefit of being able to grab a drink at the same time!
This was a brilliant month to really get a feel for how drag is changing, especially here in the UK. London's got its own new theatre called The Stardust Stage, dedicated to presenting shows all over the world via hologram. They even have holographic mannequins showing off the latest in drag fashion, don't you dare ask me how it worksā¦ magically.
While I was jet-setting around in my magical pink tutu (yes, it still takes me anywhere in time, I just pop on a little shimmer dust and whoosh!), I managed to squeeze in a few fabulous shopping sprees. Honestly, I had a complete explosion at the latest drag supply store called 'The Pink Paradise' - It's a multi-storey affair filled with sparkly garments, wigs you can't imagine, and a vast array of cosmetics you could practically use as weapons. But my highlight was definitely snagging a hand-painted pink tutu for myself! A little souvenir for your girl. Twirls.
I can't wait to get back and whip up some new outfits for my next performance, my own little show inspired by this fabulous adventure. Speaking of performances, the international scene in 2039 is so diverse and exciting! There's drag shows taking place everywhere, everywhere! You've got drag on the Moon, the moon, darlings, underwater shows in the Bahamas, drag DJs spinning on ice, it's totally wild!
Of course, you canāt have a future drag journey without paying homage to my girl RuPaul's Drag Race. You'll be shocked to hear they are now airing Season 142 on ALL the major planets! Yep, you heard that right, planets. Imagine watching it on a Saturn-themed set! Thatās what I want to seeā¦ I mean we'll seeā¦ in 20 years, darlings, when I go back.
Back in 2039, drag has become the ultimate artform! Itās more than entertainment, itās a way of life, an expression of individuality, and a powerful force for good.
