Hiya darlings! Emma here, your pinkest and most tutu-fied time travelling gal! This month's journey takes us way into the future! It's 2040 already! I know, I know, can you believe it?! Honestly, even a time travelling pink tutu like myself finds it hard to comprehend how fast time flies.
But before we dive into the glitter and glam of 2040, let's talk fashion! What's better than a classic pink tutu, you ask? Well, how about a glow-in-the-dark, multi-colour, 3D holographic pink tutu? That's right, darlings, future fashion is truly outrageous! The tutus are brighter, they reflect light, they move! It's enough to make your inner child scream with joy. And honestly, a little bit of scream is all I need for a truly fabulous time!
Now, onto the exciting bit โ Drag in 2040! This future era is about inclusivity and diversity, darling! You wouldn't believe the incredible talents I witnessed. Drag is no longer limited to a stage! I saw drag queens leading TED talks on climate change, others performing opera on the moon (with full makeup, I might add, that space suit was glam!), and some even using drag to create incredible digital art installations across major cities.
One of the highlights was the Global Drag Championship, held right here in London, where they use a holographic stage projected into the sky above Hyde Park! Imagine the glitter and glamour! Honestly, it was a sight to behold, especially with a rainbow cascading waterfall behind the stage!
And speaking of diversity, the queens are incredible! There are drag kings and drag monsters, body positive queens, gender-neutral queens and everyone in between! The world of drag has exploded with creativity and individuality! It's not about fitting in anymore, darlings, it's about embracing your true, fabulous self, in whatever form that may be!
One queen I met called "Luna," was a cybernetically enhanced, AI-integrated drag queen. She uses technology to create stunning light and shadow shows, her drag is truly future-forward! Her motto, darling, "The future of drag is digital and delicious."
But don't worry, my love for the classic live stage hasn't waned! I saw a fabulous burlesque show featuring seven layers of tutus (I couldn't resist joining in!). The girls used glow-in-the-dark fabric and incorporated laser technology! The energy was off the charts, and let me tell you, those feathers truly shimmered in the spotlight.
Speaking of feather boas, you haven't seen truly glorious feathered attire until you've seen it in 2040! They use regenerative bioluminescent materials now, so these feathers actually glow! Can you imagine that, darlings? It was as if you were dancing with fireflies! Absolutely magical.
My biggest takeaway from my time travel trip to 2040? Drag is more relevant than ever. It's an art form that embraces creativity, diversity and self-expression. The queens are amazing, pushing boundaries and changing the world, one glittering step at a time.
You know me, darlings, always a little extra! I couldn't resist slipping into a futuristic holographic pink tutu (I got it on sale at a futuristic vintage shop, it's practically a steal!), and I even managed to sneak a little performance at a local LGBTQ+ youth centre! My motto: "Drag for good!"
Oh, and speaking of my lovely pink tutu! You know how I love sharing, darlings, so here's a little DIY tip! Grab some old sequined fabric, a little pink fabric paint, and your trusty sewing machine. With a little bit of love, and a lot of glitter, you too can create your own version of a future pink tutu!
Next month, darlings, we're going even further back in time! Buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy ride!
And remember, darling, even if you're not a time travelling pink tutu enthusiast, you can still express yourself! Don't be afraid to wear that fabulous outfit, embrace your individuality and spread the joy of drag!
Love you all! XOXO Emma.
