Before we take off on our temporal tour, let me just say, the latest "Drag Queen Time Traveler" tour is selling out like hot cakes! It seems everyone's craving a dose of the flamboyant and the fabulous. And who am I to disappoint? 😉
This month, the pink tutu has taken me right to 2041, November 11th, where we're stepping right into a world where Drag has become truly international!
From the Derbyshire Dales to Drag’s Global Frontier!
Now, picture this, darlings. 2041, a year that feels a lifetime away (but who can keep track of time when it’s all a blur of dazzling pink tulle?) The world's ablaze with glitter, and drag's not just a local scene – it's a global phenomenon! The world's gone pink, if you will. And believe me, darling, it's a glorious thing!
My trusty pink tutu transported me to the heart of Tokyo, where I'm greeted by a kaleidoscope of kawaii fashion. The drag scene here is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Imagine extravagant kabuki makeup meets dazzling cyberpunk glamour - a truly unforgettable mix. Think glitter, anime, robots, and a whole lot of fun. It’s simply divine!
The drag performers here, a vibrant mix of Japanese talent and international stars, put on truly mesmerizing shows, blending the traditional with the cutting edge in ways I could have never imagined!
Then there's my trip to Mumbai, darlings! Oh, the vibrant Bollywood glam! We’re talking saris bursting with colour, shimmering outfits with a dash of that Bollywood magic, and dazzling performances bursting with charisma and energy. Drag here is like a technicolour dream come true - a celebration of art, music, and dance. The streets of Mumbai practically vibrate with the sound of drag, and the energy's contagious! It's all a vibrant fusion of culture, drag, and a whole lot of fabulous!
It’s simply breath-taking to see how drag has taken root in so many different cultures. From the bustling streets of Seoul to the grand plazas of Madrid, it’s everywhere. It's like the entire world is dressed in fabulousness, ready to celebrate.
A Drag Show to Die For… Literally!You know me, darling - I can’t go to a city without hitting up the drag shows! The 2041 scene is vibrant, unique, and a dazzling fusion of global influences! Let me tell you about this fabulous night out in Rio. Imagine a samba beat, feathers, sequins, and a splash of vibrant Brazilian flavour!
The entire scene, from the vibrant costuming to the sassy performances, is an electric explosion of culture. I witnessed such a dazzling performance! The drag queens here are pushing the boundaries of creativity and using their platform to empower the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a glorious and fierce showcase of Brazilian talent. It’s just magic!
Every show I’ve seen across the globe has been so uniquely different, it’s made my heart burst with happiness! There are drag performances in 3D theatres, interactive immersive theatre performances, underwater drag shows and so much more! The creativity of it all has been inspiring! The level of talent and commitment to the craft, not to mention the dazzling displays of self-expression, makes me want to leap for joy, spin around and burst with joy all at the same time! It really has to be seen to be believed!
I have met such a delightful collection of international queens. They are so different, yet they have something that binds them all together - a deep-rooted love for drag and a deep-seated sense of camaraderie that brings joy to all.
A Blast From the Past…
Of course, no trip to 2041 would be complete without a little trip down memory lane! I travelled back in time a bit and visited a glorious cabaret show at the old iconic Moulin Rouge in Paris. Even with a time-gap, this drag venue is still such a gem. Seeing so many Drag Queens in stunning costumes on stage – I'd be lying if I said it didn't make my heart soar! It reminded me how far we’ve come since the days of Parisian cabarets – drag's truly globalized. It was like a flashback to the early days of drag, and it felt so beautiful to see the roots from which we all come.
I love seeing all the old Drag Queen videos. We all got a kick out of those! The makeup, the hairstyles… some of it seems so wild today, but the performances and artistry still had something truly special about them. Seeing them today brought it all home – they really did it all for us.
A Peek into the Future…
The future's looking fabulous, darlings! I’ve witnessed the transformative power of drag, bringing communities together and empowering voices worldwide. From Tokyo's cybernetic cabaret to Rio's sizzling samba nights, drag's transcending borders and leaving its mark on the world. There’s so much energy, and a fierce passion for expression. And it’s simply stunning to see.
But this isn't just about spectacle. Drag's becoming a powerful tool for change, a way for people to express themselves freely and challenge norms. And as we continue to fight for equality, drag’s only going to grow more influential, inspiring, and captivating!
Of course, you can’t forget the beauty, the fashion, the makeup! Drag has changed the fashion landscape forever. It’s the inspiration behind so many looks and trends in the high fashion world, with so many drag queens pioneering incredible looks and expressions! The runway looks have definitely upped their game!
It’s a true testament to the power of individuality and self-expression!

This whole trip through time was all made possible by my dear, beautiful, magical pink tutu. I simply love it so much! I wouldn't want to travel in any other garb. It’s comfy, sparkly and has so much love packed inside, ready to make the world a more magical place, one pink tutu at a time!
