Pink Tutu Time Travel Blog: Post #1494 – June 2044

Hiya darlings! It’s Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad time traveller, back with another juicy slice of drag history. Grab your champagne, slip on your finest feathered boa, and prepare for a dazzling trip back to the fabulous year of 2044! Oh, and don’t forget to twirl!

June 2044. This month is positively buzzing with excitement for our beloved drag scene. Everywhere I travel, sequins are shimmering, heels are clicking, and the world is just overflowing with fierce energy!

I started the month by heading to the stunning, neo-Gothic St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Yes, darlings! This sacred space had become the epicentre of “Drag in the Sanctuary,” a month-long celebration of drag that had even the Archbishop of Canterbury doing a shimmy or two. The main event was a massive drag performance in the heart of the cathedral featuring legends like Lady Bardot, Dita Divine, and the glorious Glitterbomb. They were serving heavenly realness in some incredible costumes. You’ll find some snaps on my Instagram if you fancy a peek – @PinkTutuTimeTravel. The energy was so powerful that it felt like every soul in the audience, even the Archbishop, was in touch with their inner diva!

Afterwards, I travelled to New York City – and wouldn’t you know it, my darlings? June is their legendary Pride Month, so I was right in the heart of the action! Now, it wasn’t your typical Pride celebration - oh no, this was on a grand, epic scale! The annual Pride parade stretched for miles along the Hudson River with each float more fabulous than the last! I spotted an actual rainbow that went the whole length of Central Park - just unbelievable! It was as though they had somehow bottled that technicolour energy and unleashed it upon the world.

The pride events were incredible, from the high-energy Drag Race Reunion hosted by the inimitable Miss Vanjie to the jaw-dropping fashion show in Brooklyn curated by the avant-garde genius that is Vivienne Westwood – they were showcasing some outrageous garments this year, you wouldn’t believe! Imagine, dear readers, a pink tutu covered in cascading crystals! It was sheer heaven.

My month of travel concluded in Sydney, Australia, for the first ever “Global Drag Conference” hosted by none other than the reigning Miss Congeniality, Bianca del Rio, along with the fierce and fabulous Kylie Sonique Love. Imagine it, dear reader: panels, workshops, masterclasses, and even a Drag Queen Olympic competition! They even had a drag-tastic "Pink Tutu Parade" - talk about iconic! We were all twirling, sashaying and celebrating all things drag with vibrant tutus swirling like a joyful, pink-tinted whirlwind.

You see, darlings, the world of drag is a world of joy, self-expression, and inclusivity! From London's “Drag in the Sanctuary” to Sydney’s “Global Drag Conference," 2044 proved once again that drag isn't just a performance, it's a force for good – a joyful reminder to embrace our authentic selves and let our light shine! It's no wonder they called it the "Golden Age" of drag! It truly is the most inspiring, and wonderfully fierce and fabulous art form – especially in its wonderfully empowering and utterly beautiful pink tutu attire.

You see, I may travel through time, but my one aim in life remains: To bring you all, each and every one of you, into the glorious, empowering, and endlessly colourful world of the pink tutu.

Remember darlings: We are all, each and every one of us, divinely beautiful. We are fabulous! We are queens! Don’t forget to visit my site: www.pink-tutu.com for all things time travel, and fashion. Until next month, darlings!
