Hey gorgeous gals, girlies, and glamourous fellas! Emma here, your trusty, sparkly, pink tutu-wearing, time-traveling guide to all things drag! This month, we're skipping a century or so into the future, to the fabulous year 2052! Can you believe it?! I'm so excited to share my adventures, and trust me, this year is full of glittering, sparkly surprises.
2052: A Year of Cosmic DragRemember when I said 2052 was gonna be fab? I meant it. Like, the drag scene in this year? Absolutely buzzing! We’re talking galactic glam, interstellar couture, and more sequins than you could shake a feather boa at! Imagine a futuristic, intergalactic drag ball, where the looks are out of this world, the music is pumping, and the whole scene feels like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie… but with way more glitter!
Think about it: Imagine a drag queen from Jupiter rocking a moon-stone headpiece, a shimmering, turquoise outfit adorned with celestial prints, performing on a levitating stage. Yep, it's truly that futuristic! It's a whole new level of creativity, with everyone exploring different themes, from cybernetic fashion to bioluminescent make-up, and they’re really taking the drag scene into another dimension! It’s drag with an edge!
I even got to see a show at the first ever Drag Space Station – it was extra – I mean, the looks! I’m still dreaming about the shimmering purple jumpsuit adorned with holographic stars that one queen rocked!
Time-Traveling Through My Pink TutuAs for my travel this month, well, I decided to get myself a new time-traveling tutu for the occasion! It's this beautiful pastel pink, and I paired it with a matching galaxy-printed crop top and holographic knee-high boots. I mean, it was so glam, even for the year 2052! And trust me, when you're stepping out of a time-traveling tutu in a space-age drag club, you have to bring the glitter!
The Queen of the Metaverse: Introducing VERAOne thing I gotta say, 2052 really knows how to keep things exciting. The drag scene's got this super amazing online world called the “Metaverse” where drag queens are living out their wildest fantasies! Think interactive performances, custom avatars, and virtual fashion, all at the tip of your finger!
One queen who really caught my eye was a queen called VERA – I loved her holographic makeup and glittery cybernetic looks! And when I saw her perform? Honestly, you wouldn't believe the tricks she did with her avatar. I’m talking virtual fashion transformations that literally took my breath away, changing her style from ethereal to futuristic in a heartbeat!
VERA told me she really wanted to help drag be accessible to everyone in the metaverse. She wants people to be able to express themselves, find a community, and just have fun – it's so important that she brings this incredible level of artistry and inclusivity to a new audience!
Fashion & FriendsMy favourite part about time travelling is always the shopping. 2052 definitely had some amazing stores! They even had a store where you could customize your clothes by just thinking about what you want, and the store’s laser-cut them out! Now, that's what I call a drag queen's dream!
Then there were these funky cybernetic stores with custom designed accessories and robotic costumes. Honestly, you can find a whole range of fashions to experiment with - it's great for seeing the different ways drag is evolving and adapting to these different technologies. And it's all done in a really respectful and inclusive way.
Keep Shining, Keep Inspiring! You know what’s brilliant? I found loads of young queens who told me about being inspired by the queens of our times - the RuPaul’s Drag Race legends! They know about RuPaul, Bianca, Alaska, all those fabulous queens, even in the future. It’s just proof that drag really is something that inspires and connects us across time and space. It's timeless, you see.
It’s always so moving to me, because drag really has evolved so much – I mean, when we started with our pink tutus and feather boas and feather boas, you never know where drag was going to go! I really feel like we’ve paved the way for all these amazing drag queens from 2052. I mean, it's my mission, after all - to bring pink tutus to every era,
Keep an eye out for more from the future. There's always so much to explore! If you love a little sparkle in your life, remember to subscribe to www.pink-tutu.com to join in the fun.
Remember to bring your love of drag, your passion for pink tutus, and always stay fabulous. Stay glittery!
