The drag scene in 2056 is more inclusive than ever, a true celebration of individuality and artistry. You can tell by the looks in the crowd – the rainbow of colours is dazzling and the applause just keeps on rolling! *
My mission this month, you see, is to inspire even more people to join the tutu revolution. After all, a pink tutu is the perfect way to channel inner strength, joy, and unapologetic flair, whether you're twirling onstage or waltzing through a shopping centre. You know how much I love a pink tutu, darling! And this world is overflowing with pink tutu love!
I must say, as a seasoned drag traveler, I love how things have evolved. Drag, it seems, has infiltrated every facet of culture - fashion, performance art, even the culinary world! The world is more accepting and embracing, allowing drag to be this amazing celebration of individuality. Just try and tell me it's not all fantastic!
*Now, it's time to divulge into a little bit of the glorious drag history of this amazing time, babes! *
First up, imagine this, honey, you’re gliding along the Drag Street in New York City, which is, darling, absolutely glowing under a technicolour sky! There's a huge drag parade! All those fabulously dressed dancers! All those twirls! All those fierce looks! I, of course, took a full drag stroll in the most gloriously sparkly, pinkest, tutuiest get up, just to be in line with this brilliant date in history! Just watch, I’m sure my picture is already doing the rounds in the time capsule they have right at the start of Drag Street.
You see, in 2056, Drag Street was founded to give an equal footing to every aspect of Drag. Drag theatre performances, drag dance-offs, drag cabaret acts – they are all represented here in full colour! Now, I don't want to spoil the fabulous surprises in store for you! Imagine yourself, dear, being there, witnessing those glorious performances firsthand.
There are street food stalls all along the street and they've given up with traditional treats like ice-cream, now, they've created "Rainbow Cream"! It tastes of every flavour in the rainbow and I must tell you, it really is heavenly! Oh darling, I got such a beautiful picture of my lips next to that heavenly dessert.
*Now let’s switch gears, darlings! My tutu is ready to be swept off its feet and join us for a theatre show. *
We are on the stage at the newly rebuilt London Drag Theatre! A theatre that’s been beautifully restored with glittering pink balconies. It is said to be where Shakespeare used to play his pieces and, it's now a fully restored drag-only, theatre with some of the world's most famous queens gracing its stage! The famous ‘The Big One’, is, naturally, performed there, it’s a must-see for any aspiring queen. Oh! I wonder if the queen who won The Big One 2056 will be posting on their social media what they wore for this very moment! Can't wait to read it on my pink phone (all the drag queens must have one! It is the trend!).
What to wear at Drag Theatre performances! Let’s talk a little fashion, lovelies!
I have to tell you that the outfits and the beauty looks are absolutely jaw-dropping. This world takes beauty looks to the next level and they’ve even made these incredible, magnetic lashes and magnetic hairstyles that have completely done away with any hairspray.
This really was a time where Drag truly blossomed as a form of art that didn’t have to play by any rules! The makeup artistry? I've never seen so much imagination poured onto a face, with so many flawless blends of color and bold lines that could stand alone as sculptures! I couldn’t help but add a bit of bling to my eyes myself with some pink glitter around the outside, darling, the more bling the better in this fabulous place.
Well, darlings, that was just a quick peak into this truly fabulous time in drag history. This world is all about expressing yourself and loving who you are, in all your gorgeousness. But you don't have to travel through time to embrace the spirit of 2056! Embrace it all right now!
