Post Number 1675: Pink-tutuing through Time: 2059.07. The Year Glitter Became Vegan

Alright, darlings! Get ready to prance, twirl, and high-kick your way into another captivating chapter of my time-travelling exploits! As you know, my darling darlings, I, Emma, the reigning Queen of the Pink Tutu, travel through time in my magical, time-bending pink tutu! And guess what? Today's a real spectacular journey. I’m about to grace your screens, or at least the screens of everyone who's found their way to this, the one and only pink-tutu.com, with the low-down on… July 2059!

That's right, loves! My trusty tutu just deposited me, fresh off a whirlwind flight, right in the heart of 2059! Imagine it, girlies: futuristic fashions, possibly hover-cars, maybe even self-cleaning sparkly platforms. This ain’t your grandma’s drag history, darlings! It’s a real time-traveling trip through a world that's a bit of a spectacle, but let me tell you, as with every trip through time, there are so many stories waiting to be told.

You all know that I am a fierce advocate for all things pink tutu. I mean, honestly, can you imagine the elegance, the grace, the simple majesty of a perfectly pink tutu? I truly believe that it’s the key to spreading peace, love, and of course, sequins, across the whole, wide world! My ultimate aim, darlings? To make the pink tutu the single most fabulous fashion staple across every era! We may not have reached total world domination, yet, but today, we're gonna take another step towards making this pink-tutu dream a reality!

Now, before I spill all the tea on my adventures, we need a little back story. 2059 is a very different time, you know, in drag. Forget that old-fashioned, stuffy 'Drag is for the gays, only’ vibe. We’re in the year where everyone’s drag! Every shade, every shape, every gender identity – every human being, with the right wig and the right attitude, is strutting their stuff on the big stage.

The first thing I noticed as I landed in this year – it’s the future, honey! – is how many young drag artists are literally teleporting! Yes, girlies, you heard right – teleportation! Turns out the folks at the Institute of Fashion and Science had figured out how to, ta-da, time-travel-with-glitter! Who’d have thought? That means that everyone’s doing drag in every era, literally, like an endless world-wide drag spectacular!

My landing zone was downtown London, a vibrant heart of international drag! Of course the legendary Leicester Square is alive with glittering shows! Think elaborate hologram-powered dance numbers, full-body suits of bio-luminescent sequins, and interactive, holographic makeup shows, honey, that you could actually touch, or better still wear!

The other thing about drag in this future is... vegan glitter. Now, this isn’t the kinda plastic stuff you find in a pound shop bargain bucket. It's made from eco-friendly materials, from seaweed and mica crystals. I was talking to this brilliant young Queen in a holographic outfit (all-black everything and these stunning violet-tinted iridescent wings – think Angel wings but more fierce) named Jade, she had some real pearls of wisdom about this:

"We used to worry about environmental issues, honey," she told me, all whilst applying holographic blush with an electro-stylus (very sophisticated!). “But these days, you’re as good as invisible if you’re not sustainable! Plus, you want that sparkle to really pop, you have to think about the big picture: Mother Earth’s always in vogue." She definitely had a point! The glitter looked dazzling, you wouldn’t have believed it wasn’t some hardcore chemical cocktail.

I went to a show by a queen called Stardust. Oh. My. Goodness! Stardust actually could’ve been a descendant of some Hollywood siren! A true movie star, dripping with holographic sequins, and diamonds. I have never seen a runway entrance as grand in all my days. That queen was a showstopper! But she wasn’t alone in the big league of glamorous drag. I had the privilege of seeing this fabulous duo called the Glitch Queens, two beautiful queens with pixelated holographic wings that changed colour with every move!

Now, I had to find the source of the pink tutu magic. As it turns out, a large portion of the city’s drag population congregates on the new holographic drag network every day, a 24-hour broadcast platform for drag queens all over the world. So imagine, like, Drag Race, but like, in real time. I could practically smell the glitter and rhinestones coming off my screen, with all the new fabulous faces doing their thing. This network is so inclusive – even humans and alien species share the screen in drag! It turns out that we're not the only ones who enjoy some good sequins. I was able to use my very special powers to take a quick look behind the curtain – a behind-the-scenes peep of all the work and skill that goes into creating such dazzling visual displays! That’s what makes these queens true innovators! Imagine having that many cameras, all different angles and settings and effects ready to make a drag dream a reality! I have no doubt in my mind that even with my time travel tutu, I wouldn’t be able to achieve that!

But there were still questions unanswered: Where did the idea for the holographic wings come from? Who made Stardust’s costume? And where did this new vegan glitter get its magic? This led me to another crucial location: The Museum of Drag, located right near London’s vibrant, totally pink “Rainbow Street” – where all the hottest clubs are. Imagine! A whole street that only does fabulous! You haven't really lived until you’ve walked that street, girls!

This museum isn’t just for drag artists. This museum is the ultimate drag treasure trove, the one place to discover all the different cultural and fashion-inspired looks that have evolved over centuries! In every corner, every catwalk, every little gem you’d see something from an amazing history of drag artists across the globe, even the early looks from drag artists that you may never have even heard of, darlings! But this place really drove home just how revolutionary the drag scene in 2059 actually was: a fusion of so many eras and genres that you couldn’t really imagine. I saw a real, live Elizabethan court dress and a punk rock look that would've put the Sex Pistols to shame. This place gave me the inspiration for a whole series of new pink tutus! But my research had a very specific focus! The hologram, the wings… they were my ultimate aim!

Now, to the most important thing of the museum. That sparkly, holographic costume was the brainchild of a very creative queen, Miss. Lumi. Imagine, my loves, the world's leading innovator of fashion designs. The mind that came up with that futuristic look. What’s more? The secret to this incredible innovation – vegan glitter! They actually perfected a recipe, from real seaweed, a whole new formula for glitter! So, you can strut your stuff, without hurting Mother Earth, a really revolutionary concept! It even made the pink tutu look even better.

Lumi’s secret? Her very own lab – like something from a mad scientist's lab but much more glamorous! It was all filled with bubbling concoctions in different glass bottles and these huge spinning circular mirrors! The smell, the colours – the vibe was something else, darling! You see, every Queen and King, everyone wants to see the world in a different light, that is, quite literally, with every sparkle, with every shimmering touch. We don't just want to perform, we want to transform, honey!

So, how did my journey to 2059 change me, and what does this future world mean for you in 2023? This journey made me realise: Every single Queen, King, and performer across any era needs to experience the joy, the liberation that only the pink tutu can provide! My mission now is to inspire others to experience the same ecstasy! Think about this, darling: we can all time-travel through fashion. It doesn’t have to be about going through time to see a futuristic world, we can time-travel with each new design! I want everyone in 2023 to find that unique sense of liberation! To know that they can become something different with every fashion creation.

It's about the confidence that makes your body dance! You don't need a time travel pink tutu, my loves, you can create your own pink tutu! Make every day a chance to show up in something that inspires you, a dazzling look that reminds you: you are extraordinary!

You all know that I'm back in 2023. I just need a little rest and a few weeks to sort my holographic wings! My next stop is a vintage store on a journey to find some vintage pink tutus, perfect for updating. But one thing's for sure, no matter where time takes me, it will always lead back to that same goal: Making the world a more fabulous place, one pink tutu at a time!

Keep those glitter bombs, and of course, pink tutus handy, my loves! Because together, we are a spectacle! See you next month for more time-traveling tales, my loves.

Stay fabulous!

XOXO,

Emma
