Autumn is officially upon us here in Edmonton, and while I’m already nostalgic for those warm, summer ballet days, I'm thrilled to see the beauty that this time of year brings to the city. So, naturally, I'm absolutely smitten with how we can embrace the warmth of the colour palette and the cozy, layered textures of Autumn into our ballet fashion. There’s also Atelier B, for exquisite custom ballet wear, and Style Encore, which has an amazing selection of vintage pieces for that edgy-ballet look.
• Vintage Stores: This is my favourite way to add some individual flair. The Green Room on Whyte Avenue, The Attic downtown, and Style Encore are all fabulous places to unearth those vintage jewels – a stunning broach, an antique chain belt or maybe even a statement bag!
• Edmonton's Larger Shops: If you're looking for more affordable, everyday options, Zara, H&M, and Aritzia have great pieces that can be styled for ballet and everyday life. These stores always carry cute little sweaters and lace pieces that work beautifully for those cosy, layered autumn vibes.
• The Ballet Store: If you need pointe shoes or other dance supplies, The Ballet Store in south Edmonton is my go-to for all things dance wear.

• River Valley Walks: There's something truly magical about strolling along the North Saskatchewan River, where you can feel the breeze, breathe in the fresh air and admire the foliage – your tulle will swirl magnificently, making the most of those scenic pathways.
• Edmonton City Centre: Take a day exploring the architecture of the city centre – a little more on the contemporary side, but there are amazing city skyline views to be seen from the river valley.
• Old Strathcona: The area around Whyte Avenue is home to quaint cafés and vintage boutiques. A wonderful place for a relaxed afternoon, take a peek into the vintage shops and grab a coffee and a treat from the many independent bakeries.
