So, I decided to take a little trip around Barrow in Furness to see what tutus I could find and how local people are rocking them. Honestly, I was not disappointed! Turns out, Barrow has a secret, thriving tutu scene, with some truly incredible styles popping up everywhere.

From classic tutus to edgy and contemporary creations, I saw it all, and it got me thinking... how can we inject some tutu-inspired magic into our summer wardrobes? Get ready to be inspired by the stunning fashion finds I stumbled upon!

First things first, the quest for the perfect tutu! It can be a little daunting if you're a newbie to the tutu world. But fear not, dear fashionistas, I've got you covered. My first stop was The Sewing Basket in Dalton Road. It's a little gem of a shop, brimming with fabric, ribbons, and haberdashery, perfect for making your own tutus! They have a fantastic selection of tulle in all the colors of the rainbow – I went for a stunning fuchsia that I just knew would be the perfect pop of colour for my summer look.

Now, I have to admit, while I adore making things myself, sometimes you just want a ready-to-wear masterpiece. So, next, I popped over to The Costume Emporium on Cavendish Street. They have a seriously impressive collection of dancewear, from basic training wear to seriously elaborate costumes. I was blown away by the range of tutus on offer, from classic white ones perfect for a fairytale-esque look, to playful, layered tutus with intricate patterns, ideal for a modern take on the trend. They even have tutus made from recycled materials – how cool is that?!

Of course, you can't forget about vintage. I headed over to the wonderful Barrow Antiques Market for some seriously unique finds. I stumbled upon a gorgeous cream-colored, vintage tulle tutu that had this beautiful hand-sewn embroidery, all in shades of pink. It was like it had stepped straight out of a classic ballet! I almost cried. 😂 I can’t wait to style it for my next evening out – it’s just begging for some fabulous heels and sparkling jewelry.

Now, let's talk street style. While scouring Barrow, I was delighted to spot some truly inspirational tutu looks. I can't wait to share them with you!

We’re officially in the height of summer, so naturally, we gotta think beach looks. I couldn't resist putting my newfound tutu inspiration into action, heading straight down to the stunning Barrow beach for a mini photo shoot! I threw on my favourite floaty maxi dress and layered a pink tulle tutu on top, then completed the look with a woven straw bag, some quirky sandals, and of course, some seriously chic shades. The contrast between the breezy dress, the voluminous tutu, and the endless beach views created a totally romantic and stylish beachy ensemble. I honestly felt like a modern-day fairy princess, just soaking up the sunshine!
