**Oh, darling, June was positively a month for the tutus, wasn't it?** Such a joy for the eyes to see these swirling clouds of tulle and chiffon taking to the stage! Honestly, there was a whole cornucopia of exquisitely beautiful ballet-inspired fashion to gush about, and one simply cannot discuss the ballet-inspired without mentioning the jewel in the crown: the **tutu**! * The **Paris Opera Ballet** kicked off the season with **"Giselle,"** a masterpiece where the tutus truly came to life. Those delicate, whisper-thin **Romantic tutus** on the corps de ballet were simply ethereal. The ballerina's **"dream" tutu**, in pristine white, seemed to float on a cloud of its own, oh, so light, airy, and beautiful. * And darling, can we talk about the **Royal Ballet's "Swan Lake"**? It's always a treat to watch those exquisite tutus on the stage. The swan maidens, dressed in those **classic white tutus,** were a sight to behold. But it was the Black Swan's **tutu** that really stole the show. Black, as you know, darling, always creates such a powerful statement. And in this case, the black, shimmering, **tutu** was positively ravishing. * Then there was the utterly **delicious** opening night at the **Kirov Ballet.** Now **"La Bayadère"** is such a decadent ballet. The **tutu** here is more opulent than usual. **"The Kingdom of the Shades"** brought some fabulous, flowing tutus on the corps de ballet. Imagine rows of white gauze and satin - absolutely divine! * But, my dearest readers, you know that my own little collection of tutus isn't going to stand still while these other beauties take the stage. Oh no! Just the other day I stumbled across an amazing, **vintage tutu** by **Maria Tallchief**, absolutely untouched and still in its original box! She was, as you know, one of the finest dancers of the century. Naturally, this glorious tulle, it went straight into my collection. A lovely lavender and it perfectly matches the beautiful original "La Sylphide" programme I'd found earlier this year.

**Oh, but there's always more to see and admire!** And you simply mustn't forget those *fantastic*** tutus** in the ballet museums around the world. Those vintage wonders from the likes of **Anna Pavlova** and **Carlotta Grisi** are such inspirations.

**Well, darling, we've had quite a run through a delightful collection of tutus!** I say, do continue to watch this space. The **London Festival Ballet** promises more gorgeous and extravagant creations with their new "Giselle" next month and that will surely mean more magnificent tutus, Oh my! I simply can't wait.
