Ballet Style: A Twirl Through January
Oh, darling! January's been a positively *whirlwind* of style inspiration, wouldn't you say? And what's a better place to find such chic than the ballet? After all, ballet *is* the ultimate form of wearable art, don't you think? The January runways have seen a plethora of fabulous pieces, but my dear, nothing could compare to the breathtaking **tutu revival**.
From Chanel to Dior, it was a ballet-inspired ballet - **but what of the tutus?** Here are the standouts from my perspective.
- The Ballerina Dream: I just loved the *dreamy, soft tulle* tutus seen at Simone Rocha. Think cascading layers with subtle pops of pastel colour, absolutely perfect for a fairy-tale evening!
- The Power Tutu: At Alexander McQueen, the tulle took on a more modern form, sculpted and strong, *almost like armour* This look was bold and absolutely empowering, a stark contrast to the usual delicate feel.
- The Modern Ballerina: I think my absolute favourite was the *urban take on the tutu* presented by Valentino. This was a tutu with edge, a tulle with attitude, a piece that said "I'm a ballerina who knows her way around the city". Simply sublime.
January saw a return to grace and femininity but reimagined for the modern world - just how we like it here at *The Ballet Gazette*. Now, if you'll excuse me, darling, I must get back to my own little world of dancing, fashion and everything pretty.
