Ballet Tutu Fashion and Style at www pink tutu com

Dearest readers, September is truly the time to break out our inner ballerina, even if we aren't dancing professionally! I, for one, feel so inspired after all those fantastic openings and the glimmering autumn collections just launched.

My own style's been taking its cue from the wonderful tutus on the runway and stage. And you can bet your top knot there were some stunners this month.

Fashion at the Ballet: Tutus to the Fore!

Let's face it, the tutu's back and here to stay! Forget those stiff, rigid things from the old days. Modern tutus are all about movement, lightness and texture. Imagine swathes of silk gauze, delicate feather boas, and the odd hint of sequins for extra drama.

I simply adore the way designers are reinterpreting the classic tutu. My favourite of the season: The tiered tulle, so effortlessly chic, it was divine, especially as worn at the gala for the Royal Ballet.

  • **It's not just the shape, darling, it's the details** -Those lace appliqués on a pale pink tutu were truly ravishing.
  • **For evening: Bold colours and a generous amount of black feathers. Simply sublime**
  • **I was also smitten with a classic black tutu** – worn in a modern, effortless way. Imagine, if you will, black satin underskirt and then layers upon layers of fine tulle, just drifting as the ballerina turned.
  • **What's a tutu without the right shoe?** The delicate footwear we spotted had me swooning! And yes, my darlings, the ballet flat remains chic and sophisticated, as worn at the Alexander McQueen show!
  • **Don't forget the headwear!** A touch of sparkle around your face instantly lifts any outfit. I'm thinking tiny pearl-encrusted pins, like those the ballerinas wore for the opening at the English National Ballet.

But you don't have to go all out. Think of the tutu's graceful curves and light feel in more subtle ways, like the ruffled hemlines and the beautiful fluid cuts on the latest cocktail dresses. I’ve definitely incorporated the lightness of a ballerina into my fall wardrobe. Just the hint of tulle here, a bit of flowing silk there... perfect for all those evening parties. And of course, nothing beats a well-tailored, yet romantic, evening coat. As if stepped straight out of a storybook!

And with that my darlings, I'll say au revoir. Catch you next month!
