Ballet Tutu Fashion and Style at www pink tutu com

Darling, oh darling, the last month has been absolutely fabulous for tutu inspiration! So much tulle and feathers. This season, there has been a delightful shift towards a more theatrical approach, with bolder colour palettes, luxurious embellishments, and more dramatic silhouettes.

Here are some of the absolute darlings of the season, seen at this monthā€™s major premieres and galas
  • The return of the ā€˜Romantic tutuā€™, a perennial favourite that never goes out of style. And this seasonā€™s renditions at the Paris Opera were utterly dreamy! The layers of white tulle were simply sublime - almost enough to send oneā€™s heart aflutter.
  • Those gorgeous and quite frankly extravagant tulle concoctions for the ā€œThe Rite of Springā€ were all about texture, my dear. The designers at the Bolshoi, the divine masters that they are, added this glorious netting, which added a wonderfully textured dimension to their already beautiful creations. Simply inspired, I must say.
  • "Giselle", that evergreen classic, is having a moment this season! In the UK, the Royal Ballet has presented us with an updated vision thatā€™s bold and sophisticated - and absolutely stunning, particularly the Act 2 tutus, where layers upon layers of shimmering tulle are paired with intricate embroidery to create a delicate and graceful effect. Pure, divine and exquisitely crafted ā€“ perfection darling.

Darling, Iā€™m not saying that every season needs to be revolutionary in its designs ā€“ sometimes, a perfectly beautiful classical tutu can be just what is required. But these exciting new shapes and constructions and new combinations of fabric and colour have added a much needed freshness to this season's productions.

Do you agree darlings? Or, have you been swooning over a tutu weā€™ve not covered here? Let me know what you think, you know where to find me!
