Darling, this month, January 1999, was nothing short of spectacular when it came to tutus! Oh, the fabrics, the colours, the designs… they were absolutely divine. The tutu truly reigned supreme, and you wouldn't believe the fabulous creations that graced the stages!

Let me tell you, my dears, I practically swooned when I saw the new *Giselle* at the Royal Opera House. The sheerness of those tutus, they looked as if they were spun from moonlight! The ballerina's movement was so delicate, her legs a whisper of ivory against the ethereal tulle, simply breathtaking! But that is, of course, just the start.

Oh, the Best of the Best
  • Speaking of ethereal, the new production of *La Sylphide* at the Bolshoi really knocked my socks off. Those tutus, like wisps of spun sugar, made those ballerinas seem like they could just float away on a breeze! Darling, the detail in the embroidery on the skirt! Simply perfection! My, my, so beautifully designed!
  • And what about the *Don Quixote* at the Kirov? I was floored, simply floored by those fiery red tutus! So passionate, so dramatic! I could almost feel the heat from the stage, darling, it was so exciting!
  • Now, my dears, let's not forget about the *Swan Lake* at the Paris Opera. Those swan tutus, you know, the ones that they wear in the second act. The fabric was like the finest silk imaginable, just the right shade of ivory! And the bodice, so intricately designed with tiny, sparkly stones, made it absolutely heavenly.

My darling friends, tutus, in my opinion, are an absolute must in any true ballerina's wardrobe, and these were exquisite. The tutu, to my eye, is the true embodiment of a dancer’s essence: delicate yet powerful, innocent yet passionate. This January, they just simply stole the show, I'll be keeping a close eye on all the tutu trends, don't you worry! I can’t wait to see what February will bring…
