Ballet Tutu Fashion and Style at www pink tutu com

Darling, did you know, it is nearly Valentine's Day? This most romantic of holidays certainly has brought its sparkle to the dance floor, or more specifically, the tutu. Let me regale you, my dears, with some of the best examples that swept my feet off the ground and sent me scurrying to my vintage collection, quite like a ravenous magpie.

The **Royal Ballet**, darling, always leads the way! Their new production of Swan Lake (ooh, it's my favourite) featured the most divine tutus in a vibrant, pearlescent white - they positively glistened! It is such a joy to see the white tutu modernised without losing that glorious romanticism, isn't it?

Then, my sweet, there was **Matthew Bourne's** Sleeping Beauty at the Sadler's Wells. While his reimagining is daring, it's the classic tutu - in the iconic pink - that has always had my heart racing.

Of course, you couldn't possibly write about tutus this month without a mention of The Bolshoi's Giselle, could you, my darling? The shimmering silver gauze just melts on stage. My dear friend, Veronica, said she saw one with tiny Swarovski crystals woven into the tulle. Talk about fabulous!

Now, for all the fashionistas amongst us (oh, how we all love a splash of glitter!) the **Royal Opera House** has been busy hosting their usual glamorous events and, darling, the Royal Opera House Gala in particular is simply unforgettable. I saw tutus in every shade of jewel tones imaginable. My favourite? The sapphire one, of course, like a drop of ink spilled onto the most beautiful white. Simply exquisite.

  • On the catwalk, it was a splendid month, too! Vivienne Westwood, darling, never disappoints. You just had to see her **pink feather-tutu masterpiece** on that fabulous model at Paris Fashion Week. Just like something straight out of Sleeping Beauty but so, so, SO glamorous.
  • And how fabulous were **John Galliano's lace tutus? ** They were like an homage to the original designs of the Ballet Russes, don't you think? It simply took my breath away!

This month has been a whirlwind of tulle, my darling, but one thing's for sure, my vintage tutu collection is now more vibrant, and glamorous than ever. Happy Valentines!
