Ballet Couture: March’s Most Chic Looks
My darlings, what a month for fashion! From the London Collections to Paris Fashion Week, we've been spoiled with exquisite designs and a dash of ballet inspiration that was simply divine. And I’m so excited to share it all with you.
This month’s couture darlings are the tutus, my loves! Not your typical dusty pink and fluffy creations – no, these beauties were a delight of bold silhouettes and innovative fabrications. Let's have a gander at what captured my fashion-loving heart.
First up, we have Balenciaga's showstopping interpretation of the classic ballerina tutu. A stunning display of crisp white tulle in a short, layered, and almost unconventionally casual silhouette. It was truly divine - a delightful departure from the usual, perfectly embodying the power of simplicity.
Christian Dior, however, decided to take a more dramatic and whimsical approach to the tutu with an exquisite black net number with bold floral embroidery – perfectly embodying the opulence of Dior’s aesthetic. If the Dior collection had a soundtrack, darling, it would have to be Tchaikovsky!
But my absolute favourite, dear readers, was the absolutely dazzling ensemble at the Giambattista Valli show. A breathtaking white layered tutu, each layer cascading like a cloud, with exquisite detail in a signature lace trim. This tutu wasn't about being a ballerina, my love, this tutu was about being an absolute fairytale princess!
