I must confess, at times the contrast between the dark and powerful storyline and the inherent whimsical nature of “The Sleeping Beauty" seemed almost jarring... but the impact of the whole was unforgettable.

They presented this "dark ballet” in a way that challenged conventional interpretations of this beloved ballet classic. The company brought a raw emotionality and power to their dancing that resonated deeply. This performance forced the viewer to confront a whole other level of storytelling in ballet! I found it fascinating.

I whizzed off to Sydney, darling, to catch the premiere of "Wizard of Oz", a ballet interpretation of this classic story. Let me just say, this was the absolute most delightful evening of ballet! There is nothing that can top an “Over the Rainbow” finale that literally sends glitter raining down upon the audience! You know, all the sparkle you would expect from an enchanting ballet about the magic of Oz.
