Oh my darlings, what a glorious month it has been! March has been a whirlwind of balletic bliss and a plethora of divine tutu designs, absolutely exquisite! From the Opéra Garnier to the Bolshoi, the tulle is taking center stage this month.
Now, let us discuss what has caught this old Queen's eye!
A Feast for the Eyes
- The Royal Ballet, London: Let's start with The Royal, darling! Giselle, the production has been positively ethereal, and that wispy, romantic tutu worn by the lovely Miss Sylvie Guillem has me swooning! Absolutely divine, absolutely the epitome of ethereal elegance! One simply couldn't ask for more!
- The Bolshoi, Moscow: I'm always drawn to the Russian ballerinas - such grace, such athleticism. But the absolute star of the show at the Bolshoi's Swan Lake this month was, without a doubt, the ballerina's "Black Swan" costume! The tutus for the Odette & Odile are utterly spectacular. Such decadent layers, that bold black, and an absolute masterclass in how a simple tutu can turn into such an extraordinary stage statement!
- Paris, Opéra Garnier: Oh darling, Paris! They really are setting the standard with these extravagant new tutus in the current Don Quixote production! And that swirling, whirling skirt in La Fille Mal Gardée - pure delight, darlings! Such delicious tulle in beautiful pink and azure! Simply divine. Absolutely exquisite!
Oh, how I do love ballet - what elegance! What glamour! It's just too lovely! The tutus are getting longer, shorter, lighter, darker - more adventurous, even! But the point is - they're all perfectly divine!
And darling, one cannot forget those marvellous tutu displays and exhibitions! What fun and decadence, a whole exhibition of historical and iconic tutus, simply heavenly! I spent hours poring over each and every one of them! So beautiful! So inspired! It truly was an absolute triumph of tulle!
I shall have to look into those vintage tutu sites darling, get myself some new delights. I just know they'll be perfectly perfect and I shall be utterly and completely ecstatic!
