Darling, oh darling, how exquisite has September been for ballet fashion! The season has exploded with tulle and such gorgeous colours. We, of course, had to be at the launch of the new ballet season for the Royal Ballet – wasn’t it divine! That magnificent powder blue for the dancers in "Giselle"? And I positively swooned at the deep red on those luscious tutus for "Sleeping Beauty." They positively swirled in a crimson vortex! So chic and terribly daring. All this excitement really gave one's sense of fashion the old *je ne sais quoi.* And do you know what else I adored? The tutus at "La Sylphide," those beautiful, whispery white tulle, perfectly embodying those Romantic, fairytale fantasies.
A bit too saccharine, I know, but let’s be honest, sometimes it's nice to get lost in a little whimsy! There were more colours, though. In "The Nutcracker," we saw vibrant hues and contrasting, dazzling textures. I simply must have that fabulous golden fabric! All that shimmering silk was simply magnificent and perfectly embodied that wonderful Christmastime spirit! Oh darling, one had to fight for a seat in that theater, every ballet buff in London was there! Now I just have to get my hands on a little Christmas stocking. Don't forget, I must look just as sensational!
And darling, the men have certainly upped their fashion game, I saw some divine tailoring. And just look at those perfectly crisp, crisp, white leotards! Oh, it’s simply divine!
