His choreography embraced bold movements and an incredible athleticism that I, frankly, found quite exhilarating. I was enthralled by a passionate production of “Carmen" in Madrid, completely captivated by "La Bayadère" at the Mariinsky in St. Petersburg, and swept away by the exquisite "Sleeping Beauty" by the San Francisco Ballet.
