Here are my steps to fashioning your own stunning design. First, the fabrics:- A fine net tulle: For a romantic, diaphanous effect - try the Lurex Tulle Net from *Sew Easy* in London - they have an incredible array of colours for you to play with, darling. Don’t be afraid to choose a shade you never thought of, say, a turquoise!
- Cotton: for lining and body of the tutu - seek a high-quality "Linen Cotton" blend from *House of Fabrics* - they always stock the very best. Don't worry if it's not an exactly perfect colour as we will add embellishments and embellishments that bring in another touch.
- Elastic in a contrasting or matching colour - this is from your local haberdashery - it should be the finest elastic you can buy - I love it a touch softer and a delicate shade like ivory or nude. Now, you have your glorious fabrics. Let the creative work commence. I can imagine you creating beautiful swirling forms on the cotton undergarment, and embellishing your tulle. Oh darling, be bold, the modern dancer must be a vision, like a kaleidoscope spun in motion. But elegance remains at the core of this era! Consider strategically placed gemstones to draw the eye, accentuate curves and dance-related contours, and then consider flowers for your tulle. Be subtle in their use, just a few - like you would strategically place jewels! They will be beautifully, gracefully swaying and dancing around you - just as they are dancing with you.
