Leotard Style in Fareham
Hi my lovely lot,
As you know I love nothing more than finding new inspiration for leotards and tutus and so Fareham has been an absolute gem in terms of discovering some hidden gems. I had no idea how much incredible leotard fashion I'd find here. It seems there is a whole underground scene in Fareham, with secret boutiques and independent shops.
The best thing about discovering such a great little niche fashion scene is that everyone is so welcoming and happy to talk. That's what makes Fareham special. This article is dedicated to everyone I met in the Fareham fashion scene, the boutiques and the fashion bloggers, all you amazing ladies out there rocking your leotard style! I'll give you all my tips in terms of where to get your leotard fix.
Firstly, you can't talk about leotards in Fareham without talking about **The Dance Depot.** It's the ultimate go-to shop for all things dancewear. They've got absolutely everything from basic training leotards, competition-ready sparkle numbers and all those dreamy tulle tutus in every shade you could imagine, so you really don't have to worry about having too few tutu options! #leotardstyle #leotardfashion
What makes them such a good place to buy a leotard is the amazing owner, Alice. She's really invested in making sure you find the perfect leotard to compliment your shape. She gives you all the best styling tips to match a leotard to your tutu. Alice helped me discover a real love of pink, she made me realize it isn't always too much. In fact, the right shade of pink really makes your body pop. And to make things better, the prices are brilliant, making this shop the ultimate stop on your #leotardfashion journey in Fareham.
And let’s talk tutus for a minute. I love my tutus, and a leotard simply isn't complete without it. What is it about tulle? You have to choose the right length, so that's something Alice was very good at helping me with too. You don't want your tutu to drag along the floor (although that is totally cute when it does, so a long one might be worth the occasional drag if you love that look!), you want a tutu with just a few centimetres of space between your shoes. As Alice said "it just lifts the whole silhouette", so don’t just buy your leotard, buy a fabulous tutu to go with it. And don't be scared of adding embellishment. You can totally go OTT.
Getting on-Trend
But Fareham has even more to offer. **Fareham Dance Wear** is another shop that really impressed me. For some reason, the internet is convinced all of us leotard-wearing folk need to be in the colour black. That’s the trend right now - all the bloggers are saying to "wear more black"! Which is all well and good until you are wearing black for a full year's worth of classes and dance competitions, and frankly the world's gone a little crazy. It really puts off all the fun, which I believe we all need, especially when we are dancing! So my mantra in Fareham was to look at the colour trend with a smile and add in some serious colour and pattern, and to embrace the full range of colour and bold print in this amazing place!
One tip to finding amazing leotard options? Go online. The internet is your friend. That's how I discovered the best little leotard secret in Fareham - **Leotard Lovers.** This small online shop was found because of the great community in Fareham. All the local bloggers love them because the prints are amazing. Their stock is eclectic and just brilliant, the perfect alternative for when your online search ends up giving you the same boring basic options. The patterns are all unique and original, so you'll be sure to turn heads. There’s really no excuse to be stuck in a black leotard-tutu cycle again, which makes you wonder why everyone has got stuck on the idea that a leotard can’t be more than a solid color!
What I've learnt from Fareham is this: the only reason everyone is saying black is a great leotard color is that it’s so hard to get other colors right. I mean who wants to spend time really finding the best leotard color when black is just a no-brainer right? But there’s no reason for any of us to live in black when there are some amazing colours to be had.
Fareham has totally given me a new vision of my dancewear wardrobe. Now, I have to work out which tutus to buy!
Let me know if you need any leotard inspiration, I'm always ready to give my #leotardstyle wisdom!
Enjoy Fareham!
