Leotard Fashion in Wellington
Hey guys, itās Lily here! Iām a ballet dancer, gymnast and blogger living in the amazing city of Wellington, and today I want to talk about something near and dear to my heart: Leotard Fashion!
For years, leotards were considered practical workout attire, a functional necessity for classes and rehearsals. But they've definitely stepped up their game recently and now itās more like "Where do I want to wear this leotard?!"
These days, leotards are so versatile that you could wear them anywhere. Think about it! We've seen the hottest celebrities strutting their stuff on the red carpet, designers putting out couture pieces inspired by ballet, and street style looks incorporating leotards and tutus into every fashion imaginable! You could wear one to yoga, a pilates session, to brunch with your girlfriendsā¦ and still be able to hit the gym afterwards! Whatās not to love?
Weāre seeing some absolutely stunning designs come out of this evolution of leotards. They're available in a million different colours, fabrics and textures. From the most delicate chiffon, mesh and sequins to sporty mesh and bonded fabrics. You've got all kinds of necklines, strap styles, back details, cut outs, you name it. We are spoilt for choice! It makes a refreshing change from that old nylon/lycra classic.
Wellington is a bit of a melting pot of styles. So, youāll be seeing all kinds of trends right on our streets!
- Thereās the "balletcore" trend, featuring long leotards in simple colours, like black, nude, or white. The street leotard trend is taking off! I saw a couple of fashion bloggers rock this look recently! One styled a street leotard with high-waisted pants, another added a little statement necklace to their leotard outfit for a simple, chic touch. It's truly inspirational.
- We are loving all the new ways tutus are appearing too! These are a bit more of a statement. From romantic to playful to quirky. A tutu adds an extra touch of fun to an outfit and lets everyone know you're all about self-expression. Think vintage style ballerina, romantic tutu, punk inspired tutu. There are no rules when it comes to the tutu. Let your creative juices flow!
Whether you're a fashionista, a dancer, or just a stylish individual looking to update your wardrobe, Leotard fashion is where itās at! Weāre finally breaking free from traditional leotards and are experimenting with this versatile and flattering garment. It's fun and super comfortable too. Let's face it, who doesnāt want a little stretch and comfort in their lives?
