Pink Tutu Time Travels: 1674, July 7th! 🩰✨💖

Welcome back, lovelies! It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and I’m so excited to share with you another fantastic adventure through the magical world of ballet! It’s time to put on your dancing shoes, because we're leaping into the past... and it's July 7th, 1674!

This is post number 163 in my monthly adventures over at www.pink-tutu.com, and I’m ready to take you on a journey that’ll fill your heart with joy and inspiration, as we journey to a world where the dance, the fashion, and the pure magic of ballet come to life! 💖

Magical Meg: A Pink Sparkly Shire! 🐎 ✨

Remember Magical Meg? My trusty, dazzling, and incredibly glamorous steed? This magnificent shire horse with her golden hooves, flowing white mane and tail, and that glorious coat that glitters pink like a sunrise on a perfectly sparkling summer's day... well, she's the only way to travel through the annals of time!

Just imagine, darting through the swirling sands of history with her powerful strides and graceful movements – it’s an exhilarating feeling! This time, Meg and I will be visiting the very heart of the world's first professional ballet company. Can you guess where we're going?

A Ballet-Filled World:

So much happens in the ballet world in 1674. It was in this very year that the world’s first permanent professional ballet company opened its doors in Paris. Founded by Louis XIV and known as the Academie Royale de Danse (Royal Academy of Dance), it really put ballet on the map and set the stage for a world of dance to come. Talk about an important date for the history of dance, wouldn’t you say? 🤩

Of course, back then, they were all wearing more elaborate, embellished costumes – and the dancing wasn’t quite as expressive or technically focused as we know it today. But don't worry! I’ll make sure I capture the look and feel of it all with my favourite pink tutu – you'll be able to see just how far ballet has evolved through time! 🥰

From History to Haute Couture!

It's not just about the dance though. I just love how the world of ballet is woven with fashion. Back in the 1600s, ballet outfits were quite decadent. Lots of velvet, silk, embroidery, and lace. You might think the pink tutu has no place in this, but that’s just where I come in! With a dash of modern creativity and a sprinkle of my favourite hue, I always make sure that my tutu adds the perfect touch of whimsical delight to the mix. Pink goes with everything, even back in time! 😉

Emma’s Pink Tutu Takeover: A Legacy in the Making

My mission? Well, I'm on a mission to make the world pink... at least where ballet is concerned! I want every ballet dancer from every time period to feel the freedom and joy that only a pink tutu can bring. With my pink-tastic magic, even back in the time of King Louis XIV, the dancers will be embracing their inner ballerina and feeling just as confident as we do in the 21st century. 💕

And speaking of spreading the love, I've even brought along my trusty leather rucksack, filled with a few of my most special pink tutus that I'll be using to show the dancers in Paris what they’re missing. Maybe one day, even in the 1600s, you'll find dancers wearing pink! Imagine the shock value - it would be quite the fashion statement, wouldn't it?

From Derbyshire to Paris

So here we are, at the edge of time. The bustling streets of Paris are before me. Can you imagine the air of sophistication, the exquisite architecture, and that air of adventure? I've left Derbyshire for this amazing experience, but my love for ballet will take me anywhere! And let’s not forget my wonderful Magic Meg, she’s a Derbyshire girl too, you know?

This is my diary, and with it, my legacy – documenting ballet history through my travels, and, most importantly, bringing the joy and brilliance of dance to life in every time period I visit!

So, come along with me, dear readers. Put on your best tutu, get ready for a captivating ballet adventure, and join me on this fabulous time-travelling journey into 1674 Paris! It's going to be a pinktastic adventure! ✨ 💖

What I learned about Ballet History:

This visit to 1674 was a true learning experience for me, dear friends! The dancers here are a bit different than those in today’s ballet companies. Their dance style focused more on elegance and courtliness. It’s more of a stately, dignified approach than the fluid movements that we love in modern ballet. But just think, they’re the foundations for all we see today – just as King Louis XIV laid the foundations for the Académie Royale de Danse, these dancers laid the foundations for future ballet!

But I have a secret weapon… My sparkly pink tutu! Now that’s a style statement you can’t miss! I just know the Parisian ballet world is going to be just as enamored by the beauty and joy of a pink tutu as I am. Maybe next time we can check back and see if this timeless piece has left its mark in 1674 Paris. That's what makes ballet time travelling so fun – discovering how fashion and the dance change through the years. 💕

And let's be honest - how can I resist slipping a little modern-day ballet fashion into history? The pink tutu is just too magical not to share! Imagine, leaving behind a piece of my love for ballet in 1674, ready to be discovered by a future dance historian! Perhaps, maybe, my tutu could inspire some changes – who knows, my lovelies! 🤩

I just want everyone to be embracing their inner ballerina! 💕

*Stay tuned next month for another spectacular journey through the annals of ballet time travel. Until then, stay sparkly, embrace the pink, and keep dancing your heart out! *

With a swish of my skirt and a twirl of my pink tutu, I’m out! 💖
