Hello darling tutu enthusiasts! Emma here, back with another adventure from my magical pink tutu travels! It's 1st January 1695 today and, wouldn't you know it, I'm practically giddy with excitement! I landed in London just this morning, the air thick with the scent of wood smoke and the anticipation of a new year.
Just a little background on my time-travelling companion โ that's right, it's Magic Meg, the pinkest, most sparkling shire horse you'll ever see! She's got golden hooves, a white mane and tail, and a spirit as bright as her coat. You just wouldn't believe the sheer joy of riding her through time! Oh, and of course, on my back I have my trusty leather rucksack, ready to gather more fascinating ballet treasures from this era.
Now, back to our time-hopping adventure! This January in 1695, there's quite a stir happening in the world of dance! You wouldn't believe what I saw today - people literally stopping in the street to watch this group of men performing these acrobatic and elegant moves. It turns out this was the first-ever performance of the 'Ballet Comique,' and it was held right here in London! Honestly, I'm a bit in love! The music, the costuming, the sheer skill of the dancers! I immediately pulled out my little notebook to scribble down some of their moves. Just imagine the grace and energy!
Now, if you're a bit chuffed with your current dance outfit, just imagine how you'd feel dancing in one of these 'Ballet Comique' costumes! It seems men are quite the flamboyant creatures back in this time, wearing silk and lace, ribbons and feathers, with colours as vibrant as a tropical sunset! It all gives me a little giggle and fuels my dream of turning everyone into a tutu-wearing angel!
What I saw today felt incredibly special - it's just incredible to witness a historic turning point in dance history. This event practically screamed 'The beginning of a ballet revolution' to me! Even though my time-travelling diary suggests that 'The Royal Academy of Dancing' wasn't born yet (though a similar academy had already begun in France, just two years prior), I can practically hear the echo of it all: tutus, costumes, music! A little ballet bird just keeps telling me to spread the news, and to make sure that everyone knows what the future holds - and by future, I mean tutu-clad bliss!
In the evenings, after a day of soaking in the history of ballet and discovering some utterly delightful new tutu styles in my time travels, I take a turn on the stage. Yep, you read right - after travelling through time, I always stop somewhere and showcase my own moves. Whether it's a small stage or a large theatre, I'm sharing my passion for dance with everyone. There's nothing like the energy of an audience! You just can't help but be swept away by the music and movement.
Now, dear reader, are you ready to dive into this exciting world with me? We're heading to Paris next! They're experiencing their own ballet boom at this very moment. Just you wait!
Until next time, Stay fabulous and remember - Every day is an opportunity to wear your pinkest tutu!
