Pink-Tutu.com: Post #944 - A Ballet Blitz Through 1739!

Greetings, my lovely tutu-wearing comrades!

August the 8th, 1739! Fancy a time-traveling ballet escapade, darling? Buckle up, because Magic Meg and I are about to take a little trip back to the 18th century - the time of powdered wigs and petticoats, and surprisingly, the dawn of a truly glorious ballet moment!

*Outfit for the Occasion: *My wardrobe is packed with pink tutus for every occasion, but for a dash of 1739 flair, I'm pairing a frothy tulle creation with a shimmering silk bodice, all in shades of the most magnificent blush pink. I've got to look the part, wouldn't you say? A dainty pink feather boa just adds a little extra flair for good measure. After all, we're on a mission to spread the tutu love across the centuries!

Meg's Time Travel Gear: My dear Meg, our sparkling shire horse, doesn't let a little time travel slow her down! She's got her special magic horse shoes, polished with glittering stardust, to handle the portal magic. This time, she's pulling a beautiful carriage with a pink and white striped canvas top, perfectly matching my outfit - oh, the details!

Let's Start Our Adventure!

Landing in London town in 1739, I'm immediately charmed by the hustle and bustle of the city. Cobbled streets are brimming with carriages and gentlemen in knee-length breeches, while ladies with panniers float by in their gowns. There's a delightful air of elegance, although the lack of pink tutus does cause me some sadness!

Oh, The Ballet!

Now, let's get down to the business of ballet, my lovelies! My trusty leather rucksack is loaded with notebooks, a camera that photographs in colours, and of course, my trusty pink tutu - just in case someone needs a little inspiration!

This day in 1739 holds an incredibly special ballet event: a world premiere of a brand-new ballet by the extraordinary Jean-Georges Noverre! This Parisian ballet master, the "father of ballet d'action", is pushing the boundaries of what ballet can be, creating a story with dancing and character - brilliant! I simply had to see this.

Noverre's ballet, "Le Jardin d'Amour", a lovely romantic story filled with playful fairies and noble suitors, enthralled me. The movement was natural, the gestures elegant - Noverre used dancing to convey emotion, creating an utterly immersive experience. And, dare I say, a little bit inspiring for a tutu-clad blogger like myself. I was particularly mesmerised by a stunning solo that showcased a young dancer’s impressive technique. He, with incredible strength, conveyed passion and desire with just his movements. I swear I could practically hear the hearts of the ladies in the audience melt.

After the Show

My evening didn't end with the ballet. No, I explored the London streets, taking in the atmosphere, marvelling at the fashion, and collecting all the juicy gossip about 1739 ballet from a local cobbler who shared a passion for the art form (though his pink-tutu appreciation could be considered… well, nonexistent!)

I am adding some of his findings about ballet life in London back then in 1739 to my notebook right now! Just wait for my blog post on "ballet under the reign of King George II"! It will blow your mind!

Coming Soon: Tutu Travels to Vienna

I can't keep my little feet from dancing! Magic Meg and I are off to the heart of Europe for a special ballet trip to Vienna - an adventure awaits!

But tell me, darling! What ballet event in history makes your heart leap? Which era of dance do you love? Share your ballet adventures with me! I'm always ready to celebrate the wonders of the world of ballet and to inspire you to wear a pink tutu!

See you next month, loves!

Love,

Emma
