Pink Tutu Time Travels: 1st January 1768 - A Parisian Ballet Debut! 🩰✨

Post #1285: A brand new year, a brand new adventure, and guess what, darlings? My pink tutu's taking me to Paris!

Bonjour from your favourite ballet-obsessed time-traveller, Emma, from Derbyshire! I'm back with another whirlwind journey, this time landing smack-dab in the middle of 1st January 1768! Did you know that the very first ballet school was founded in Paris in 1681? It was called the Académie Royale de Danse. Just imagine, little dancers twirling their way to ballet glory right here in the heart of Parisian life.

And this year, I'm off to see some real magic! There's a new ballet performance being staged at the Académie Royale de Musique. Ooh, la la, how exciting! I’ve just met the loveliest carriage driver in a plush, cherry red carriage, and oh my goodness, did you hear that? It’s a tune called “Air du danseur de cordes“, so pretty! I feel a bit like a Parisian princess. You just wait until I tell you all about it – the costumes, the moves, and of course, the magnificent sets!

Now, I can’t go to Paris without my loyal steed by my side, my beloved Magic Meg. Meg, with her pink, sparkling coat, golden hooves, and white mane flowing in the breeze, is the epitome of fairytale beauty. Oh, to have a horse who could talk, we’d be a true spectacle on the Parisian cobblestones. The good news is that I'm perfectly comfortable in my elegant pink tutu while astride my gorgeous pony – it really doesn’t matter where in the world we land, pink tutus always make a statement! And for this trip, I'm packing a specially curated collection of ribbons, feathers, and the most delightful pair of pearl earrings – the Parisian ballet crowd just adore those, darling.

You see, I'm not just here to dance and marvel, but also to gather treasures. It’s part of the joy of this journey, seeing how fashion changes over time! Right now, I’m so enthralled by the beauty of the women's clothing from the 1700s. Imagine wearing big, puffed sleeves and rococo style dresses – they're quite extravagant compared to today! I can almost imagine dancing through a Parisian salon in a sweeping gown with a feather boa wrapped around my hair – ahhh, pure whimsy! I can almost smell the delicious pastries and fresh flowers in the air.

Don't worry, you can follow along with me through my pink-tutu.com blog. It’s going to be packed with exciting news, fascinating snippets of history, and perhaps a fashion tip or two!

And speaking of fashion, I'm all about a statement. So when you see the latest trends popping up in London, New York, and even here in Paris, I hope you think, "Hmm, perhaps that pink tutu is making a comeback after all! ” It’s been a long, beautiful dream of mine - and one day, every woman, young and old, will be twirling in a glorious pink tutu! Imagine how lovely the world would be!

It’s all a matter of seeing the world through a pink tutu! Just picture all those joyful, bouncy steps. Ballet takes you wherever you want to go – into the past, present, and future – that’s the beauty of the magic!

Let’s not forget the other incredible dance performances happening today, not just in France. My dear diary tells me there was a vibrant performance happening in a bustling theater right here in England, just yesterday. You can imagine how exciting it must have been for all the locals! Imagine dancing amongst a crowd in a cozy village theater! I've always loved a little charm and the warmth of local entertainment! And this journey proves it’s a world-wide ballet revolution, ladies!

So, tune in again next month for another fantastic time-travelling adventure. It’s not just about pink tutus and fluffy tutus, but the world of ballet and its endless possibilities. Join me on this whirlwind tour! See you in February for a brand new chapter in my ballet-filled journey, from your friendly, fashion-obsessed, time-travelling ballerina blogger – Emma. 💋 🩰 💖

And remember, there is no time for doubt when there's a pink tutu on the horizon!
