I simply adore Paris, and this era in French history is buzzing with the vibrant world of ballet.

The world of ballet in 1779, oh my! Paris was the epicentre of ballet at this time - the most sought-after dancers in the world were performing there, and they were in high demand, darling! Imagine the glittering spectacle, the beautiful costumes - simply divine! And, I hear there was a rather lovely opera ballet called “Iphigénie en Tauride” by Christoph Willibald Gluck making its debut at the Paris Opera. You wouldn't catch me missing it, darling!
Dress for Success! Oh, those exquisite, decadent 18th-century ballet costumes, so stylish and charming! Think bouffant skirts, corseted bodices, and intricate trimmings. I always ensure I travel with the perfect pink tutu for every era. Luckily for me, I have found an amazing vintage tailor shop tucked away in a Derbyshire village that recreates those enchanting costumes and helps me create my own vintage collection - they are dreamy.
My Rucksack of Delights
But my ballet journey isn't just about admiring the performances. I also like to get involved. I'm an absolute shopaholic, darlings! You can't resist a good fashion find! And believe me, this period had some divine items. I recently acquired the most divine, delicate pink silk gloves from an antiques shop near the Seine. You simply can't live without the perfect gloves, darling - just imagine those fabulous silk designs, it's almost as if you are wearing ballet shoes on your hands!
