Pink Tutu Travels: A December 12th Ballet Adventure - Post 1656!

Hello darling dears and welcome to another month's adventures on www.pink-tutu.com! It's December, which means Christmas is just around the corner, and for a ballerina, that means sparkly tutus and magical shows! 🎄✨ But before we get to all that festive cheer, we have to travel back in time, don't we? My trusty pink sparkly shire horse, Magic Meg, with her golden hooves and white mane, is all ready for our latest ballet adventure! 🦄

Today's date? 12th December 1798. Oh, my dears, we are in for a real treat! Remember how much I adore historical fashion? 🪡 Well, you're going to adore this one!

So, let's hop aboard Magic Meg and journey back to a time of powdered wigs and lace-trimmed slippers. Our destination? Vienna, Austria. What a beautiful city with an exciting history of ballet! I’ve heard that Vienna is quite the centre for dance at this time, with a new, more romantic style being pioneered. The thought of twirling and pirouetteing in this kind of romantic ballet sounds simply divine! 💖

Dancing Under the Imperial Eye

I must admit, I'm rather excited about seeing the Wiener Hofoper, the Viennese Imperial Opera House! You can’t visit a city like Vienna and not see its opera house, now can you? My dear, I’ve read about it in one of my ballet history books, you know! It's one of the most beautiful buildings in the whole of Europe. Just imagine those exquisite interiors, those plush red velvet seats, and the glimmer of chandeliers! The whole thing will be utterly enchanting, like a scene from a fairytale. 👑

You won't believe the incredible dancer performing tonight! The ballet program boasts Monsieur Noverre! You see, this particular gentleman, is the reason behind this new romantic style of ballet we are talking about! He's known as the 'Father of Ballet,' darling, the one who started this modern, expressive dance revolution. To imagine seeing such a historic performance - it's enough to give me butterflies! 🦋

Pink and Powerful in the Palais Imperial

Oh, my dear readers, I simply must describe what I’m wearing! A soft, peachy pink tutu with delicate tulle layers that gracefully catch the candlelight of the Vienna opera house. Naturally, my pink rucksack is filled with exciting, new ballet items from the era. There’s this lovely satin ribbon for my hair and a miniature theatre playbill from this evening's ballet performance.

Later on, we shall attend a lavish social gathering hosted at the Palais Imperial! I wonder if my pink silk sash and dainty lace gloves will make an impression. You know, it's very important to make a good first impression when meeting historical ballet aficionados, isn't it? 💕

The Joy of Dance - Through Time and Space!

You see, darling dears, the true joy of ballet isn't just about the performances; it's about sharing these magical experiences and stories with you! And don't you worry, my pink-tutu-wearing readers, I'm here to spread the love! Because ballet, and fashion, is for everyone! 💖

*Next month's journey? I’m thinking somewhere exciting…maybe France? Italy? Perhaps I will even meet the great Marius Petipa! And remember, if you have a special date in ballet history that you'd love me to explore, leave a comment below! *

Don't forget to visit my website for the full gallery of pictures, a virtual tour of the opera house, and my interview with Monsieur Noverre! You'll find all the links in the blog post, just like last time. 💕

Until next time, darlings! ✨

Love and pirouettes, Emma

P.S. Don't forget to join my ballet community on Instagram! I'll be posting all the highlights of this incredible ballet journey. See you there! ✨ 💖
