Post #1859: Pink Tutu Time Travel: November 11th 1815 - The Belle Epoque of Ballet!

Hello lovelies, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Time Travels! This month, I'm waltzing my way back to 11th November 1815. This isn't just any date - this is the day a little something magical happened in the world of ballet. It's the date of Marie Taglioni's birth, a ballet legend who changed the landscape of the art forever!

I mean, just picture it, darlings. Marie, with her tiny waist, flowing skirts, and grace that could only be described as ethereal. The first real ballerina in the world, who was a total icon and fashion inspiration! Honestly, I can't even imagine trying to dance with those heavy costumes they used to wear. Can you imagine trying to get a pirouette in those layers? Just not possible!

Oh, speaking of getting my fashion fix, I absolutely adore researching historical dancewear. Honestly, it's practically like a ballet shopping trip back in time! It's all about the frills, the ruffles, and the romantic aesthetic, isn't it? It's all so utterly timeless and beautiful - not to mention inspiring!

Of course, I couldn't do this journey without my trusty steed, Magic Meg, our pink sparkling Shire horse with golden hooves and flowing mane! Today she is wearing her finest pink saddle and matching velvet reins to be completely on theme with the day's fashion trends.

As soon as we arrived, I knew it was time to put on a dazzling show! You see, we've landed smack-dab in the midst of the French Belle Époque - a glorious period of creativity and sophistication that completely transformed dance! So, I decided to perform my favourite choreography - the Swan Lake variation, of course. Honestly, the audience went absolutely wild. It seems the joy of a pink tutu, beautiful ballet, and dramatic pirouettes transcends time, darling!

My trusty leather rucksack was bursting with memorabilia from my journey, just like always. I even snagged some old-fashioned dance programs, some beautifully detailed ballet drawings and, most importantly, an exquisite vintage ballet journal. The journals contained precious accounts of ballets from the 1800s - a delightful mix of detailed costume descriptions and intriguing stories from the stage! Imagine all those beautiful silks and satins, perfectly styled to bring each ballerina's unique story to life. It makes my own costume creations even more magical, don't you think?

I'm adding this vintage journal to the Pink Tutu collection, to be enjoyed in my cosy little cottage back in Derbyshire. Honestly, my travels wouldn't be complete without those bits of vintage history to make my own collection truly spectacular!

After my show-stopping performance, I went straight to a decadent, luxurious Parisian ballet company, a world away from my own humble Derbyshire ballet studio. All that finery and extravagance! I can only dream of seeing some of their pieces - just imagine the grandeur of a grand Victorian ballet performance with all that opulent decoration and rich fabrics, especially the pink ones, darling! They don't get much better than that!

Of course, you might be wondering, "Emma, how can you afford all this magnificent time travel?" Well, darlings, the answer lies in the art of the show, naturally! I perform at a handful of events, and just think of the magical moments these events create - the thrill of a dazzling pink tutu, the joy of sharing ballet with people who have never seen anything quite like it. Plus, it pays the bills and allows me to take Magic Meg for some well-deserved treats - she truly is my best friend!

And let's not forget the main point, darlings - spreading the pink tutu message. My mission is simple - to inspire every woman, girl, and little one out there to embrace their inner ballerina. Because ballet isn't about the perfect physique, it's about the passion and joy you express through movement. And nothing, absolutely nothing, is as empowering and beautiful as a pink tutu.

Now, while I'm lost in all this Parisian excitement, don't forget to hop onto our very own Pink Tutu website: www.pink-tutu.com. I’m going to update my journal with this month's trip, a beautiful set of pictures and videos of my time here. Let me know which historical eras you’d like to see me travel to next, I'll be taking requests and planning some epic trips for next month.

Don't forget to keep on spinning and twirling - that pink tutu joy is always waiting to come out! Until next time, my dears!

Lots of love, and keep it pink, Emma xx
