Pink Tutu Travels: A Whirlwind Visit to 1830 - Post 2037

Hello, fellow ballet lovers! Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another time-travelling adventure! This month, I’m feeling particularly excited – September 9th 1830 – a date filled with ballet magic and historical intrigue! I can already picture the swirling tutus, the elegant poses, and the passionate performances… and let’s not forget, the gorgeous, extravagant fashions!

For this trip, Magic Meg (my sparkling pink shire horse, wouldn’t you just die for her?) and I are going to…well, nowhere specific! It's a voyage of discovery, a chance to soak in the ballet atmosphere of 1830 and explore whatever thrilling ballet experiences await. My trusty leather rucksack is packed with paper and pencil – I need to make notes for all those lovely little stories and beautiful snippets of fashion inspiration!

So, where might we end up this time? We might wander through the cobbled streets of London, seeking out a theatrical production at the King’s Theatre – the premier venue for ballet at the time. Imagine the grandeur, the chandeliers twinkling above, the rustling of silk dresses, and the vibrant colour!

Maybe we’ll find ourselves in the glittering salons of Paris, the city where ballet flourished in the 19th century. I could imagine an exclusive, elegant soirée at the Paris Opéra, watching the talented dancers showcasing their art in such a luxurious setting. I just have to snag some Parisian ballet fashion ideas – I imagine there will be stunningly detailed costumes, dramatic makeup and opulent accessories!

Could we find ourselves on the Italian coast, maybe Naples? The Teatro San Carlo in Naples is known to have staged fantastic ballets – even Mozart's! Maybe there will be a chance to see an exotic ballet production under a starry night sky – I adore how open-air theatres were in that era!

If our wanderings lead us to Vienna, then I imagine waltzing through the exquisite Schönbrunn Palace. Just imagining all the beautiful ballgowns and shimmering tiaras! My heart beats a little faster just thinking about it. Perhaps we might find ourselves at the renowned Vienna State Opera, immersing ourselves in a truly majestic world of ballet!

Every corner of Europe was a ballet hub back then – who knows where we will find ourselves on September 9th, 1830? But regardless of where our travels lead, one thing is for certain: I will be dancing and documenting every delightful detail for you all. From the intricate choreography to the elegant ballet fashion, it'll all be captured and shared right here!

As always, remember to wear your pink tutus! It's not just about the style – it's about the joy of embracing the beautiful, playful, and elegant side of ballet. So let’s twirl into the unknown and create a whirlwind of time-travelling excitement! Don’t forget to check back next month for another journey – who knows what kind of ballet magic we’ll discover!

Love, Emma xx
