Pink Tutu Time Travel Blog: Post #2190 - 6th June 1843

Greetings, darlings! Emma here, your trusty time-travelling ballerina, back with another instalment of pink-tutu filled adventures! It's June 6th, 1843 today, and my fabulous pink tutu, Magic Meg, and I have just arrived in…drumroll…Paris!

Now, Paris in the 1840s was a real hive of activity, buzzing with intellectual, artistic, and cultural fervor! I practically gasped with delight when we emerged from the time portal, the air fragrant with freshly baked bread, the streets abuzz with charming horsedrawn carriages, and elegant ladies strolling with parasols in hand. But my mind was solely focused on one thing: the ballet!

You see, darlings, the 1840s was a time of transformation for ballet. The grand and formal style of the 1700s was evolving into something much lighter and athletic. This exciting new approach was pioneered by a man named Jules Perrot, and the Paris Opera Ballet was at the forefront of this ballet revolution.

My rucksack, brimming with ballet treasures, was practically overflowing with information on Perrot's works, the Paris Opera Ballet, and the fascinating stories of the ballerinas who graced their stages. Oh, what a treat to discover these wonderful details and bring them back to you, my beloved readers!

Today's ballet happenings? Oh, I'm so glad you asked! At the Théâtre de l'Opéra they were presenting the most magnificent piece called La Jolie Fille by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, and let me tell you, darlings, the swoonworthy choreography just blew me away! Imagine, intricate footwork combined with graceful movements – the beauty was absolutely captivating! There was also a whole array of enchanting tutus on display. A sea of romantic tulle!

To say I was starstruck was an understatement! The Paris Opera Ballet dancers were breathtaking, a veritable display of poise, artistry, and grace! But it was one particular ballerina who really stole my heart: Fanny Cerrito. You see, this stunning lady, besides being a master of classical technique, was known for her vibrant personality and playful energy! I saw it first-hand – the spark in her eyes, the delicate way she glided across the stage. Truly inspiring, darling! A true pink tutu icon!

And speaking of iconic figures, let's talk about my sweet chariot! Magic Meg, my loyal pink-sparkling Shire, has been utterly magnificent as ever! Her shimmering hooves and fluffy, snow-white tail seem to shine brighter in the Parisian sunshine! She made me feel absolutely dazzling as I trotted past the quaint little boutiques lining the Parisian boulevards, admiring the exquisite lace dresses and intricately embroidered fans.

But let's be honest, darlings, I wouldn't have been myself without adding a touch of pink to the whole Parisian experience, right?

Coughs dramatically

I might have used my ballet funds (you know, the ones from my magnificent performances!) to snag myself a delicate hand-stitched pink bonnet at a fashionable little milliner's shop. You simply cannot travel in time without adding a touch of pink-tutu fabulousness to every outfit, you know?

But, oh, dear reader, the best was yet to come. Imagine my delight when, in the same shop, I found a charming pink feather boa - perfect for an extra touch of "pink tutu flair". My readers know, that's my motto: More is more, and a splash of pink can brighten even the most dreary day.

Naturally, I made sure to find the prettiest rose pink shawl and matching gloves at one of Paris's exclusive boutiques – you wouldn't catch this time-travelling ballerina caught in the wrong colour, would you?

All in all, my Parisian sojourn was simply magical! The streets, the shops, the culture, the ballet - everything was so wonderfully inspiring, not to mention fabulous. It made me long for the elegant Parisian streets even as we said goodbye to June 6th, 1843.

However, don't fret, dear readers! My ballet journey will continue next month, and who knows where it will take us? Stay tuned, darlings, and make sure to always add a touch of pink tutu magic to your day!

Until next time, stay fabulous and never be afraid to embrace your own inner pink tutu!

Your dearest Emma www.pink-tutu.com
