Pink Tutu Time Travels - Post #2229 - 1846 - September 09th

Hello my darling ballet bunnies! It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another fabulous time travel adventure! Buckle up, my loves, as we head back to September 9th, 1846, and a year that, believe it or not, had some rather lovely ballet happenings! This month, darling readers, we are in the mood for fashion - oh my, I have so many beautiful ideas bubbling! Let's start the pink parade!

Today, I am adorned in a particularly fluffy pink tulle tutu - it's positively billowing and, dare I say it, worthy of the Royal Ballet itself. Now, my darlings, imagine my joy when Magic Meg galloped us back to a time where pink tulle tutus were all the rage - the romantic ballet era! Yes, yes, I know, the ladies of 1846 were fond of big, romantic tutus with frills and layers upon layers, much like our own glorious pink tutus!

I have to tell you about the magical moment we reached our destination - a quaint town, steeped in history. We strolled right into the heart of it, the air brimming with the sweet aroma of pastries from a bakery, and the sound of children playing with hopscotch.

Speaking of children, oh my goodness! Did you know, in this period, ballerinas began being taught to dance as young as four years old? Now that is dedication to our craft!

The stage of 1846 wasn't just graced by little ballerinas - the legend, Marie Taglioni, was in full swing! This year saw the creation of La Vivandiere - a delightful ballet all about a girl who dances in a war between the Austrian and French armies. Can you believe it? A dance about war and love!

On this very day, in Paris, ballet was quite the affair - people were going to the theater en masse. Ballet had become one of the biggest entertainment events, adored by the highest of high society, just like today, eh darlings? Fancy a spot of shopping in the 1846 vintage ballet attire section of www.pink-tutu.com?

Speaking of 1846 ballet attire, did I tell you about this divine pink silk blouse I spotted at the tailors in the town square? They have amazing silks and patterns, I was practically frolicking about in joy. Of course, I couldn’t leave without purchasing it for my dear readers! Expect some fantastic fashion ideas inspired by this stunning blouse! It will pair beautifully with any shade of pink you choose for your tutus. And imagine! - pairing this silky delight with an intricately woven black or purple belt for an added touch of chicness!

Of course, my beloved rucksack is packed full of treasures! I'm not only gathering the very best ballet costumes - I found this amazing beaded hair comb that would be absolutely divine for your next evening performance. Now, my lovelies, we have to remember that even the greatest ballerina has to tie their hair up neatly before the performance.

But enough about the past! Let's look at what's happening on the 9th of September in the world of ballet TODAY! Oh my, darlings, we are in for a treat! Just yesterday, I heard the wonderful news! The world famous Bolshoi Ballet has been hosting a spectacular "Romeo & Juliet" show in Moscow. Oh my! It simply sounds enchanting - and wouldn't you know, it will run right through to September the 10th, giving us an extra day to catch it! Oh, to be back in the world's capital of ballet, enjoying this masterpiece! But maybe that's an adventure for next time.

Well, I have to bid you adieu, darlings, as Magic Meg has become restless. Remember to spread the joy of ballet wherever you go. Don't forget to stop by www.pink-tutu.com and share your favourite ballet adventures with me. After all, we all have our own unique story to tell, and mine just happens to be filled with tutus and time travel!

Until next month, darlings! Let's keep spreading the joy of ballet! And of course, don’t forget - let’s all embrace pink, with all our hearts, and wear it proudly in the beautiful, unique, enchanting form of the pink tutu!
