Hello my darlings! Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood time-travelling ballerina! I'm absolutely bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures with you - this time, we're whisking ourselves back to the glamorous year of 1899! Oh, my dears, the fashions, the dance, the energy - it was simply electrifying!
But first, let me introduce you to my trusty companion - Magic Meg, my beautiful pink shire horse with a sparkling coat and hooves that glimmer like golden coins. This extraordinary mare takes me to every corner of the world and back, with a magic mane and tail that whispers tales of forgotten times. She loves to trot around cobbled streets and gallop across moonlit fields as much as I do, and let me tell you, that's a whole lot of galloping!
Anyway, back to 1899... We landed smack-dab in the middle of London, the heart of ballet's world. May 5th was a day brimming with activity in the ballet world, with a string of dazzling performances all over the globe. In Paris, the Opera de Paris, our beloved Opéra Garnier, was graced with a stunning revival of 'Giselle'. Now, you all know how much I adore a romantic tutu - and Giselle's dress, that billowing white and emerald green confection - absolutely takes the cake. Oh, I could have spent all day twirling in that costume!
Across the Channel, the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden was alive with the spirit of the 'Don Juan' ballet, showcasing the breathtaking talent of the great Russian dancer, Vaslav Nijinsky. Now, my dears, this man could leap! It's no surprise he was nicknamed "The Dancing God"!
Of course, no trip back in time is complete without a spot of shopping. And my, oh my, the vintage dancewear in 1899 was a vision! The colours were simply exquisite – soft peaches, deep emeralds, and my absolute favourite, the glorious pink hues of the Victorian era. It's amazing how those gorgeous pink hues, so similar to my own tutu, were so loved back then. We must bring those fabulous colours back into the modern ballet world!
Remember, my darlings, the very first tutu - our ultimate ballet icon! - debuted all the way back in 1830, and it has become a true symbol of the world of ballet ever since. I simply must have a copy made of the very first tutu for myself! Just imagine the pictures I can post on Pink-Tutu.com!
Speaking of, darling, have you subscribed to Pink-Tutu.com? If not, do join my fantastic community and share your passion for ballet, vintage styles, and time travel! We can spread the tutu revolution, a dance of freedom, grace, and beauty throughout the world. I, your very own pink tutu ballerina, will make sure of it!
Don’t forget to tell me in the comments about your favourite time-traveling ballerina, or your favourite ballet performance of all time, and of course, tell me how much you love pink!
